Kazbek & Mok
At this point, he wasn't sure how the others could be peacefully sleeping at a time like this. As soon as he learned Carnal was in labor, he was at the den's door; pacing, shuffling, and giving brief looks inside. Maybe some whining too, had he ever been this nervous? They weren't even his blood children, yet he was desperately awaiting their arrival- and to make sure his mate came out okay... The stress surrounding her pregnancy worried him, and he hoped all would come out just fine.
Finally, though, he heard mewls coming from the innards of the den, and even through the darkness he tried to peer through to see them. Not much could be seen though, and even though his paws willed him further, he would wait for a right away. "Carnal?" He mewed gently, knowing that barging in without asking wasn't a wise decision on his part, so he would refrain. His paws kneaded the ground as he waited for a word.
Mok rolled over his siblings as he ate, letting out soft whimpers as he enjoyed his mother's milk, unaware yet of the world around him. |

[/i] She murmured, very happy to know that he'd been out there. Once Kazbek got inside, she would nod to each cub, three males and a female. Then her head tilted up to his gaze. "They're beautiful, aren't they?" The 'ess purred with delight. It was the first time she felt so affectionate, so emotional. It made her all warm and happy inside. Nearby, Kodiac had finally dragged himself from his little den where other warriors napped and plopped down some distance behind Kazbek as his son had popped his head inside of Carnal's den. Kodiac still wanted to see the cubs, they were his children after all.. even if Kazbek was Carnal's mate.[/ul][/blockquote] |

Estevan took nothing more than the pleasure of being able to throw anything against his father, to bring shame to his promiscuity. And the fact that Carnal had given birth to his half siblings, despite her being Kazbek's mate, was simply too delightful to pass up. He wanted to be there to see tempers flare, father and son getting pissy at each other.. it made him realise how lucky he was that he wasn't interested in the slightest when it came to mates and mating.
Why were his parents such.. whores? Kodiac had been flirting around with random females, and he swore he saw Caylis getting close to Cassius. He just shook his head in the face of it all - had they no respect for their current children? Or when they came of age, they just went about their own things, their own way.
His whole family was a mess, and it turned him off badly.
Wings tucked close to his sides, he pawed inside the den, thinking malicious thoughts. But as he came to his father's distance and sat down beside him, he saw how.. affectionate and happy Kazbek was. And fault him he will, Estevan had to admit that it was heartwarming to see his brother so dedicated, despite Carnal cheating on him. That was true love right there. But that didn't stop him from being angry at Carnal and to a greater extent, his father.
A sneer appeared on his lips as he looked to the side. "Came to see your children, hm? He muttered to Kodiac.[/color]

Forgot to add someone.
Devyn's head peeked upwards at the small crowd gathering - the Kannons specifically. He stood, stretching his limbs. It would seem his sister has given birth. Trotting over he caught the tail end of Kodiac's and Estavan's words to each other, flicking an ear, for now he ignored them. "Carnal?" He called in, his voice soft as excitement filled him. These were his nieces and nephews.

He gave a shrug, not really taking his father's tone to heart. Such defensiveness.. It was easy to realise what a mistake you made when you know you don't have as much freedom as you originally had. Estevan knew with all intensive purposes that his father would love nothing more than to throw him out and tell him to piss off.. well, he'd fix that.
The young male shook his head. "It sprung to mind," He mused. "But seeing how happy they both are.. I think I might actually play nice for once. Kazzy is my brother.. and I think him and Iarri are the only felines in my life that I wouldn't put shit on and you're close to that list. Genuinely.. I'm happy for him."
He gave a smile and turned to look at the happy couple, looking at their litter. Estevan thought about how weird the whole thing was gonna be.. his brother raising his younger half siblings, mothered by his mate.. talk about complications. In the heat of the moment, where Estevan wasn't his usual malicious self, he got some hints of regret for the way he'd treated his father. After all.. despite their differences, he taught Estevan how to fly.. and god only knows how much longer he was there for him than Caylis.
Estevan groaned inwardly to himself. He was such a princess, a family guy at heart.[/color]

Little Connor was doing things that a normal newborn would do. Mewing, wriggling etc. He had noe idea of what was going on around him.

Kazbek
The male wasted no time in squeezing into the den once he had been approved. As soon as he caught full sight of Carnal and the cubs, a loud purr rumbled in his throat and through his gullet. A sort of pride went through him, despite the obvious fact that lay in the back of his brain. "They are wonderful." He coo'ed, pressing his large head against her's affectionately. It felt like the nicest thing he had felt, and he for once in the past few months saw Carnal subdued... It was a happy time indeed. His deep blues washed over the little ones at her belly, four of them, four little fuzzballs. "Have you thought of names?"
His ears flickered to hear his brother and father outside. He knew why his father was here, and it made him feel, for the first time, very uneasy. Damn he loved his father to death, but his appearance at the den's eantrence had made him almost feel threatened. Albeit was a surprising feeling, and he scolded himself inwardly for it, but it was obvious Kazbek was going to be a protective father...
Nuzzling his mate's forehead once more, he muttered to her. "I think the rest of the family wants to see them." He was unsure how his father felt about him naming the cubs, so he would let his mate decide if she wanted him in to see them before or after they were given names. |

Iarri Kannon
The young healer had stayed close to the den as soon as she had heard the first cub call out. She was there not only because it was her job as a healer to help the new mother through her birthing and make sure all cubs came out unscathed, but these cubs were her siblings. And no matter the complicated family tie the little bundles were born into, Iarri loved them all the same. One did not get the luxury of choosing to whom they are born to.
Carnal had done great, especially for her first time. Iarri's assistance was hardly needed at all. For the most part she stayed outside with her brother, offering him soft words of encouragement. Things such as, "She's going to be okay Kaz." and "I'm than positive these cubs are going to be in top shape." Yet, she understood his nerves and anxiety. It was only natural.
Blue's moved to her father and then to her other brother as he arrived. Ears perked to try and listen to their exchange. She knew how her brother felt about their father. She sometimes shared the same input. But she loved Kodiac, no matter his tastes in lifestyle. It was that taste that brought her into this world. Sometimes it seemed Estevan forgot that one small matter, though she would always keep her yap shut about it.

[/i] Kodiac thought about how they would explain things to their siblings. Raised by their brother. Would Kodiac be able to be an important part of their lives? He didn't want to push Kazbek away just for the sake of a new brood. Carnal heard Devyn, but waited until Kazbek had talked with her. She smiled and nuzzled her mate, full of joy to be with her family. There was no feelings of strange of awkward with this littler. They were absolutely precious, and she adored them all. Though.. she couldn't help but worry if things may develop later on. She had been very stressed during her pregnancy, after all. After Kazbek mentioned other family, she sighed. "Mm.. yes, Devyn first though." She said.[/ul][/blockquote] |

Again, Estevan found himself smiling to Kodiac. God it felt like such a weird, foreign thing to do. But as his words were accepted by his father, and watching the whole thing play out and his brother getting along with his half siblings, whom he'd still call his sons and daughters, a thought occurred to Estevan - maybe he had been too harsh and ungrateful on his family.
He watched as Devyn walked by, and then Iarri in the background. He looked over to her, flashing a grin and a small nod to her. "Well, well," He mused to her. "The nurse stands idly by." He turned back and, without a second thought, nuzzled his own father. "Congrats, Dad." He said to him, before looking to the happy family resting by without a word.[/color]

She stepped out of the way to allow Carnal's brother through. Estevan's words reached her and she offered grin of her own. "Good to know the Kannon family grump can still smile." Of course she was teasing, her light playful tone insinuated it.
Casually she trotted toward her brother and father, giving Kodiac a loving rub of her own.

Kazbek
Licking her between the ears, he purred. "I understand love, I'll give him some room to see them." He muttered softly, moving out of the den so that Deyvn could go in. A proud smile was still plastered on his face as he met the male outside, nodding for him to go in and see his nieces and nephews. On the meanwhile, he turned to his father and siblings, very happy to see that they were all around.
Well, almost all of them.
It breifly reminded him how angry he had gotten when he figured out that Caylis didn't return to them. He had raged, he had roared, and he had damn near left to find her himself- but the fact that Carnal was so close to birth made him want to stay. It tugged at his heart that his mother couldn't see this wonderful moment... But it would have to wait. He wanted to stay by his mate's side through this time, but as soon as the time came, he would get her back.
Shaking off the slight tearing at his heart from Caylis's absence, he padded up to his father, brother, and sister. "Brother! It's good to see you!" He boasted, shouldering Estevan playfully. He hadn't seen him in a while through all the chaos, and it was quite a surprise to see a smile on his face, it made Kazbek feel even better. "And happy too, I'm glad you all could be here for this..." His blue gaze turned to his sister, who had also kept an eye on the birth, "Well well, and you've turned into a fine nurse."
He knew his dad didn't just come for the shits and giggles though... Looking to Kodiac, he motioned toward the den, his voice a little less boastful and only the slightest bit... Uneasy, though still obviously sounding happy. "She wanted Devyn to see them first. After, I'm sure it's your turn." |
