VERDAMMT, SESSIAN
[/i] He said. Sessian peeked his head out, but shook it. "Sorry Verdammt, sir, I think I'll take a long walk to find some more bedding though. Something dry." He said.[/ul][/blockquote]

Zehn FermentHe damned near swore they were to evolve into fish at this rate; might as well use seaweed to bed in than attempt dry lodgings. Verdammt's voice snapped his gaze up and cleared away the scowl he wore directed at the bedding; hmm, he was a fair bit hungry. Yes, a hunt would be perfect. Sessian seemed more eager to fix this other problem in the meantime, and that was just as well.
Exiting his den, he stretched and yawned, long canines catching the air. "I will accompany you. It'll do me no good to sit around and grow lazy." He flashed a kindly smile, as was oft what he did; generally a happy sort of lad. Unless his bedding was soggy. "What game are you after today?"

VERDAMMT
[/i] He said with a smile as they began to walk away in the rain. "Anything besides frogs." Joked the lord. Though it was true. Frogs that were not brightly colored, and therefor safe to eat, would be a common quick meal for anyone living in Jungle. "I've seen things swing from the top of trees, perhaps we could investigate those. Or go for the vibrantly colored birds. Their feathers may make for unique decoration. I also think we should keep an eye out for new potential places to rest. I'm rather tired of finding my bedding soggy.." A den would be nice, a deep cave of some sort. For safety reasons, it would need to be a cave that curves up, not down. [/ul][/blockquote]

Zehn FermentEugh, frogs. Gross little things, common as they were. A meager meal for the days where bigger prey was scarce. No, certainly together they could do better. "Birds would do; there are plenty of places where they descend for insects and seeds. We can stalk them there. Perhaps we'll find a hunting spot for the swinging beasts along the way, for future reference? If we're lucky, we can find a dry place nearby one of those, though I doubt they'll stick around long once we move in." He flashed another jovial grin and his tail flicked against the foliage, knocking water from the waxy leaves. "So, how have you been?"

Diana
Meanwhile, bright green eyes shone from the den that she lay with her mother in. She was still young, but the little forest mix was getting more and more curious all the time, and eager to explore such a vast expanse of trees beyond their camp. Flicking a gaze back toward her mother, she stuck a flipped paw out to catch some raindrops on her pad. As much as she wanted to go outside, she knew a soggy cub wouldn't be very pleasing to Maylin... An audible, heavy sigh escaped her. "I wanna go outsiiidddeeeee..."

VERDAMMT, SESSIAN
[/i] Verdammt said as they walked. He kept an eye out for prey and predator. So many other creatures lived there. Weird and often ugly bugs. He didn't really like the spiders, though. The really big ones. They made Verdammt uneasy. "I've been well. Life is good, even if there are only so few of us. I can't expect many to come across our pride though, so the few we have are of a surprise. I can't help but to miss father, though. Whatever did become of him?" He asked. Sessian looked over at Diana and smiled. He knew what it was like to once have a strong need to explore. But the jungle was a dangerous place. He wanted to shelter the young forever. Sessian knew better than that though. They would explore one day. He left the den and turned to Diana. "Then come on out, but stay with me." Sessian said with a grin.[/ul][/blockquote]

Zehn Ferment"I don't know." He breathed, shrugging his shoulders as he walked. "Him and mother moved on I suppose; my siblings and I were old enough to fend for ourselves so we spent quite a bit of time away. The pride was meager at best, so I figured they might've taken a vacation." It saddened him; he really did miss his parents and his siblings, especially his twin brother. They were a tight family.
"It is a shame we don't have more members currently. We're young, we deserve a little bit of play." He winked, suggestively indicating what he meant. He'd laugh good-naturedly and continue keeping an eye on the terrain, reading it and the path they were taking. A little while further and they'd be in a good vantage point for some avian prey, though he hadn't seen any sign of the critters in the trees, though he could hear their calls; they could catch a few birds and continue their search, or detour toward that first. He had to keep an eye on the ground too however--you really didn't want to step on a snake here. Optics glanced at Verammt in question on that matter; what did he want to do?

Ama'asi
Having been beside her only sister, Ama nodded excitedly at Diana's protest to escape the drab and dreary den. At their father's beckoning, the little blue furred 'ess was on her paws and after Sessian and her sibling."Are we allowed to go hunting!!?" She piped, eyes venturing everywhere but body sticking close to the male.

Diana
The cub gasped in excitement, happiness filling her face as she hopped from her spot, hobbling after her father. Soon enough, a familiar mew his her ears in all it's exasperation, she playfully lunged after her briefly with a playful squeak. "Can we hunt in trees dad?"

VERDAMMT, SESSIAN
[/i] He murmured as he rolled his eyes at his half brother. "Give it time. We're in jungle. It rains a lot and stranger creatures live alongside us. Not many come our way." He added on while his gaze sought any potential prey. The large monkeys from the ground came to mind. Gorillas, though Verdammt didn't know that's what they way called. They were rare even in jungle, and when they did come around, Verdammt usually avoided them. One day however, he'd take one down. Today wasn't that day. He paused to scan their surroundings. That's when he noticed the okapi. There was quite a few and they appeared to be minding their business, unaware of Verdammt and Zehn nearby. The lord nudged Zehn gently and nodded in the direction of the Okapi. [OOC: FJ I suck at hunting, want to skip the actual hunt?] Back at camp, Sessian chuckled as his children came out of the den, excitement in their paws. They wanted to do so much, but they were still so little, and he wanted them to be safe. "Someday, perhaps. But not today. Today we can observe what lives in our home. From the tree tops to the ground. We must be careful and cautious and learn about every living thing here, so that we know what's okay to eat, and what isn't." He said. With a paw, he lifted a small rock. Beneath it crawled out different kinds of insects. Each one harmless. Worms, snails, bugs that rolled and crawled with many legs. "Beneath each rock, behind every tree, is a lesson and adventure waiting." Sessian said with a smile.[/ul][/blockquote]

Maylin She had been awake for some time now, only with her eyes still closed and resting her head on her paws. The damp bedding was a hassle to deal with but the water infernal honestly didn't mind it as much as the others though every night she'd try and move around the dries bedding so that her cubs could sleep peacefully. At the sound of both her daughters boredom and eagerness to explore she opened her blue eyes in time to watch Sessian guide them out of the den. She smiled warmly at them and lifted herself up to stretch and walk out of the den to enjoy the beams of sunlight as they had escaped the vast canopy of leaves above. It was rare for the jungle to be so sunny and yet even so everything still seemed soggy. Sighing to herself she turned round to watch Sessian teaching the cubs smiling again she walked back over to the den and began to dig out the wet bedding.

Ama'asi
A bit bummed that they weren't allowed to hunt quite yet, Ama gave a frown. But like most cubs it wasn't hard to get her interested flared again. As Sessian lifted the rock, Amaasi crept closer, ears back and tail lashing with curiosity. Once the bugs poured the little 'ess flew back with a disgusted squeal. "EWWWW!!!" Aqua-ed orbs happened to land on the mother. Still with her look of utter disgust, she inched a few more steps away from the upturned rock. "Moooom, Da's making us look at gross buuugs!" She whined, trying to emphasize the word bugs in hopes Maylin would be just as appalled as she was.

Ama'asi and Diana ARE ADORABLE SPDIJSPDA. && yeah I suck at hunting too Zehn FermentThe mud-hued male chuckled at the response he got for his remark, a smile curling his lips. He noticed the other pause and did so as well, and upon the nudge, set his sights on the much more suitable prey.
Ahh, just what they needed!
~*~Skip~*~
Panting heavily, the male surveyed their kill [up to you on how many--one is really all the pride needs though, unless our characters are huge. Zehn's probably smaller than Verdammt at any rate.]; enough for the pride to eat well tonight. Shame they didn't down any gorillas, certainly; though what was hunting without some treasured prey, a goal to aim for, something to show one's skill? Showmanship? They weren't simply feral beasts after all.
He wiped at the blood on his muzzle with his paw, cleaning it off on the foliage--all in the sake of looking a little more presentable, a little less 'I just killed something that had family'. "Ready to bring this back?"
Perhaps they can find a new densite on the way back?

VERDAMMT, SESSIAN
[/i] He protected. Gentle gaze landed on Diana. Would she have the same reaction? Verdammt panted alongside Zehn. They made an excellent hunting team, and no doubt, should a day come where a lone gorilla crossed their path, the duo may take it on. That day wasn't today. They had an okapi. It would feed the pride, even if it only was one okapi. "Mhm. It'll serve the pride well." He said, then helped Zehn carry it through jungle. As they walked, Verdammt kept an eye out. For anything, really. It was then, through the trees, did he noticed a cave. Or a den. It had a wide opening and the front was covered, absolutely covered, in trees and shrub. He had paused his walking and no doubt Zehn would look to see what grabbed his attention.[/ul][/blockquote]

Zehn FermentTheir brotherhood was strong as far as Zehn was concerned--that indeed they could take on any prey-beast in their path and arise with a healthy meal to bring back to their home.
The pause gathered his attention and he looked over to him and then followed his gaze, alighting on the grown-over entrance. It was intriguing, although they were a little preoccupied to search it to find out if it was suitable just yet--it wouldn't be difficult to clear a better path into it, but who could say what lay inside? He had occasionally found skeletons or strange drawings inside such places, and had once nearly fallen into a cracked flooring, the inside being so deep and dark he knew there was no way he'd have survived such a blunder. Those were cub-hazards more than ones for the adults but with a pride so small, they had to protect the next generation under all costs--though it was unlike him to feel differently even if they were larger in number. It just wasn't right to let cubs come to harm.
He'd motion with his head, trying to indicate 'let's head back and retrace our steps here to better explore', unable to speak around the mouthful of okapi. And speaking of going back and cubs, he had a little teaser to give the lively children.
