Circa
She sighed, brushing against his side softly. "You're a good brother, but Carnal will be... Carnal. I'm sure you know that a lot more than I do." She said with a chuckle, hoping to not make the situation sound so sad, "I would just give her time, I wouldn't count out seeing them forever... They'll know you, I'm sure." Circa tried her best to sound optimistic, but there was still the obvious and repetitive question of a certain one's fate, and whether seeing them would in fact be an option.
The topic moved on to the three adolescents that she had partially raised and come to love... Her heart longed for them to be innocent again and playing by her side, but that was gone out the window with the recent tragedies and warfare. "I would give anything for them to be cubs again. Close to say I loved them like my own..." She sighed, looking a bit more serious and dazed as she thought back to the past events. "They didn't take Brynneth's death well at all, it was too soon for them... Corona and Edmund suffer the most but Alfwin-" She paused, stopping as she looked behind her for listening ears. "He's not the little smart-toned boy he once was. He's strong and intelligent, but... Different."
It was easy to tell that a lot of pressure weighed on the young lioness, and sadness welled up in her baby blues as she thought about her three god-children being ripped apart by tragedy. She bottled so much up the past few weeks; but that's what has to happen right? Suck it up? She was the Captain, not a cub, but she had feelings too... She wasn't as solid as the Lord and Commander, at least, not yet. Looking back to him, she shook her head, "That battle changed so much around here. And brought a bit of... Unanswered questions to the table, too." She muttered gently, as if pointing to the one that had been eating at her the most lately, the one he had raised himself.

Osic Donovan
She was right. Carnal would come around, hopefully. Perhaps when judgment day did finally come she would have a change of heart. Who knew. But Circa's optimism was a nice relaxant. He listened to her talk about Bryn's cubs. No doubt there was a lot of pain there. The poor kids were orphans. Osic didn't know Alfwin well, or his siblings, but he did remember the male being the questioning cub. "Perhaps he's still trying to find his way.." But he knew that wasn't true. This place did things to people. He had noticed that there were so many cubs here that just didn't partake in actually being a cub. It was sad. Ears lowered as he studied her face. It was hard to picture her crying. When she had at the battlefield it had been an awful thing. But at the same time some just needed that release. She had gone through and witnessed so much. Was she truly capable of being a superior? The upper head's in the Veldt didn't know how to handle sadness. They were too cold or distant. They had to be he supposed. In the end it was Najisi's soft heart that had lost her her title. Osic didn't want Circa to have to go through the scrutiny of being too soft. But still he stopped walking, wrapping a paw over her and pulling her to him. He had been brave then, back at the battle. He hadn't cared to blurt it out in front of every one there. Yet he had been interrupted. His wings moved to cover them both, cocooning them from the rest of the world. With a deep breath he rested his head against hers. "A lot of things did change back there. But... But one." Lids closed tightly. His heart seemed to be beating a thousand miles per hour. What did he have to lose now.. You have nothing to lose. You have nothing to lose... "What I wanted to tell you... um.. What I had wanted to say but never got the chance was that I love you." There! It was out. Finally it had been said and his chest suddenly felt so much lighter.

Circa
She wanted to fall to her paws as he pulled her closer, as if that moment all she had felt was hard to keep in. How often did she get an embrace? Her blue eyes shut tight as water crept to them, struggling; at least until Osic's wing came up to shield them briefly from the rest of the world. At least for the moment, she could pretend it was gone, she could release... Her head sunk to rest on his and she let it all come out for once- quickly and silently under the cover- but god it helped just to let the tears fall for a moment. She would never cry in public, she would try to appear as hard as stone, but Osic shielded her... Just for this moment she felt like she could let go. Just once.
Though her body had become somewhat numb and shakey, her ears were wide awake, listening closely to him as he spoke- and finally they caught the words she had been waiting for, hoping for. She was so worried that he hadn't meant it, or that she had heard him wrong. It was like the final relief, one worry she could at least put to rest. Looking up into his purple optics from the original place of looking down, she cracked a soft half smile "I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever say that..." She whispered, "I... Love you too."

Osic Donovan
He let her cry. He didn't mind. Osic felt she needed it; away from any prying eyes. Her pain would not be something to gossip about. He was trying to make sure of that.
When Circa had finished her own confessions, Osic slowly began to laugh; lightly. "I've wanted to say it.. I just had too much doubt." He bumped his nose against hers before chuckling again. "To be honest, I never said it because I thought you thought.. I don't know.. that we were just friends. Pretty cliché, I know."

Circa
Bringing up a paw to wipe her eyes, she began to laugh lightly as well, with him. "Are you kidding? I've had a crush on you since we were cubs..." She teased with a soft chuckle as she wiped the brief breakdown away, feeling a significant weight roll off her shoulders as her humor slowly returned. "I was afraid that you had just said it in battle because... I don't know, I was worried that you didn't mean it when you said it... Don't keep me hanging like that."

Osic Donovan
He watched her wipe her tears away, smile soft; loving. "Guess I'm not as smart as I like to think." Osic tilted his head, slowly sliding his left wing back to his side. Keeping it around them was beginning to make the troublesome joint ache. "I never knew how to tell you but the moment I saw how pained you were.. You just had to know. I wanted you to know that I would never go against you. Never betray you." With a gentle nudge he began to walk again. He felt standing there covering them for too long would draw unwanted attention. Just act casual.. "You're completely right. I'll try not to leave you hanging again. Promise." Osic walked in silence for a few minutes, not only thinking but also enjoying this short time that would soon come to a close. "I want you to be my mate." He blurted. "I just.. I don't think it'd be fair considering.." There he trailed off. With his fate still up for debate it didn't make much sense for him to ask her to be his and then he be executed, exiled, or enslaved. And how would that look for the Meurtrier captain to be the mate of currently titled traitor. He began chewing the inside of his cheek as he continued to think.

Circa
She nudged him back lovingly, but pulled away slowly as his wing went back to his side, revealing the outside world again. A brief look around told her that not many were around, and hopefully no one even noticed anyway. At least mostly sure of herself, she eased back to his side, trying to regain the authority in her walk. Her upper lip twitched as he made a promise, and she leaned over to bump him briskly. "I trust you."
Many moments of silence allowed her to calm herself once more, and it was obvious in the weight of her steps, not as trudging as they had been. Though, Osic brought up the matter that was the greatest thing on her mind now... Once again, she eased to a slower pad. "I accept." She muttered softly, knowing she would probably get a questionable look , she turned a bit more to face him. For better or for worst, they loved each other... And if today was the last they would have, so be it. "If worst really does come... At least we got the chance, even if it is just a secret between us." She mewed, folding her ears down. "I still have hope, though. I don't wanna give up that easy..."

Osic Donovan
And a questioning look she did receive. "R..Really?"That he most certainly did not expect. But he was definitely ecstatic about it. That grin of his returned and he pressed close against her, not caring who saw. "Not going to give up that easily.. I think I like the sound of that. A secret romantic love in a messed up world controlled by tyrants. Any good girls fantasy right?" He laughed then, letting a purr rumble loudly through his throat. A mate. Osic. Him! So far nothing had seemed fair or easy in his life. Heartache followed the male. At least it was starting to feel that way. But now he let his mind lock those thoughts away. He had something he had always wanted. The beginnings of his own family, one that could be perfect. If even for a small moment in time.

Circa
She wanted so much to wrap a paw around him, maybe tackle him and wrestle him around, it was a horrible feeling not to; but she knew it wouldn't be wise with all the eyes around. Perhaps they could go somewhere else? No... She had told Nerente she would stay close, this was already suspicious enough, without them running off unseen together. But she felt just like he did... The workings of a perfect family... She wished that could be true.
She laughed, a purr rumbling in her throat as well. "Sounds like a good cub story." She mewed, briskly pressing her head against his chest before backing again, stance again trying to remain high. "Let's hope it has a happy ending."
Too bad Cocaine's gonna phuck shit up.
