NERANTE
[/i] Of this Nerante was truly curious.[/ul][/blockquote]

Osic Donovan
The question gave him pause. Oh he had thought about it. A multitude of times. He often had dreams of dashing madly through the dens, out into the night, up into the sky and never looking back. Yet that was near impossible now. His days had all melted together. He slept when he was tired and woke when he couldn't sleep any long. Whether it was night r day eluded him now. But the big reasons that kept him locked up wasn't the hopelessness of escape, but the people he just couldn't leave behind. Funeral was his father. He couldn't play favorites in his position. He loved his sister to death and even though she had most likely wrote him off, he would never ever turn his back on her. And then there was the Captain. Osic couldn't bring himself to think of leaving her forever. It damn near broke his heart. "I've never been much of an escape artist." He chuckled. "That and I'm not a traitor." To this he stared Nerante squarely in the eye. "I would stay in here even if I wasn't guarded. One way or another I will prove that standing up for the ones I love does not make me filth."

NERANTE
[/i] He commented, thoughtful. "Is this some sort of way of saying that you believe Najisi is not a traitor, or.. just your own?" Nerante asked. Surely Osic knew that Najisi had slept with another and produced a cub.. what did Osic think of this? It puzzled Nerante, and it kept him seated in deep interest.[/ul][/blockquote]

"My mother had her beliefs. She hates my father and the commander. That was no secret. I know Najisi had weaknesses, but don't we all? She was meant to be a spy. What if she had no choice? What if refusing Ceon risked her play in his pride. Sometimes I stop and wonder if she had refused him and he had caught on. We never would have had the advantage. We'd still be hiding out in the Grotto like a bunch of vermin. But Najisi loves her children and I will never hold it against her that she kept Ceon's cubs. It isn't like they chose to be born to the parents they have." He gave a simple shrug. "As far as I'm concerned, my mother not using her children against someone else or killing them like they're to blame for some crime makes her stronger than those that have so recently abused the younger generations. I can't say for sure if she is a traitor. I've only gotten one side of the story and my gut tells me I'm not getting all the truth. If they wanted to leave the pride and get away from what they believed to be a couple of dictators then as far as I'm concerned good on 'em." He paused for some air. Calming himself. "I refuse to be a pawn with no other purpose than hurting one or the other parent. There are also a choice few who I can't bring myself to part with."

NERANTE
[/i] He trailed off, then shook his head. "No, you're right, nevermind. But enough about that. It's headache inducing.. what news have you heard of your sister?" Did the whispering of pregnancy yet meet Osic's ears?[/ul][/blockquote]

Who knew. Maybe they felt it safer not to speak of it. He could easily see Funeral and Cocaine losing their shit if Najisi and Reno had come out about their wanting to leave. But he kept it to himself and nodded in agreement. Ears perked to the mention of Carnal. "I had asked that apprentice of yours earlier. A rather mousey thing that one. All she told e was that my sister healed up and left the dens with the others." Thinking about it now something seemed off. All this bad news he had received and Nerante wanted to know what he knew of Carnal. "Why, is something wrong? Did something happen to her?"

NERANTE
[/i] His tone lightly teasing Osic. Clearly Nerante didn't think that their prisoner was too much of a big deal. Nerante shrugged his shoulders, but shook his head. "Wrong? Heh, well define wrong. She probably thinks the world is ending. But to ease and answer you, she's pregnant. Now before you ask, no, I don't know who the father is."[/ul][/blockquote]

Osic Donovan
Pregnant.. She was pregnant. He was going to be an uncle. Cubs that he would most likely never having the pleasure of knowing. Sure he was proud of his sister but chances were they'd be told to stay away from him. But he began to laugh. "How ironic. They call Najisi a whore and yet here she is pregnant and scared so obviously she doesn't have a mate." His volume lowered a bit. "I hope some come out looking like Najisi in some what. So that she'll always have a permanent reminder.." He looked up then. "To be honest it's a shame. I may be the immature one but Carnal's still young and too hot-headed still. But who knows, maybe having kids will mellow her out some. He wondered how her arch nemesis Kimiko had to say. But he didn't bring it up. "And how's the Captain doing?" He hadn't wanted to ask but he just had to know.

NERANTE
[/i] And then, it came to mind. Funeral had a new mate. It hadn't been obvious to most, but Nerante, being the medic, had been informed by Odysseia herself. For what reason she had to tell him was over his head, but she had confided in him to keep the secret. Could he tell Osic about this? It may further enrage him. Best not.[/ul][/blockquote]

Osic Donovan
His body shifted to allow his wings to stretch, a few maroon feathers floating to the ground. Osic watched them fall. He hadn't been too motivated to groom his large appendages these past few days. He let his mind wonder for only a moment, simply enjoying the fact that he wasn't alone. "Doing her duty to Meurtrier.." he muttered softly. Osic looked back up then with a smile, clearly pushing what was on his mind away. "I imagine your children are out and about now." Careful not to bring up the healer's lost cub. "Bet they're becoming a handful."

NERANTE
[/i] Nerante said, sounding a tad bitter. Enough of that, though. He stood up with a stretch. "Afraid I'm done now. I'll.. be back, I guess. If you need something, get me." He said and abruptly turned to leave. He wanted to see what Iarri was up to.[/ul][/blockquote]

Osic Donovan | Iarri Kannon
Osic offered one last friendly grin as Nerante excused himself to leave. Well, it was nice while it lasted. As soon as the Healer left, Osic stood and made a few steps toward the exit of the but stopped halfway. He stood there motionless, instinct screaming for him to keep going, yet he did not. From there his pacing resumed.
A very light hum lifted from the red 'ess. Her long fluffy tail tapping the ground in rhythm. Busy had the small blood beast/hollow hybrid been. She had set about alphabetizing virtually everything. Already was she halfway through.

Iarri Kannon
Her own little world had swallowed up all her senses. She was in the healers den so any intruder would have to go through the entire pride to get in there, her guard was comfortably down. In such Iarri hadn't expected the male behind her. The hum ceased, replaced by a startled eep! She turned with wide blue eyes, but quickly calmed when Nerante came into view. "You really need to start clearing your throat y'know. Sneeze or something." She teased with a light giggle in her words. She turned back around then to look at her work. There was quite a ways to go, but almost finished none the less. "I suppose you can start at the end of the alphabet and we can meet halfway." She gave a small nod to herself. It sounded reasonable enough and they could talk while they worked.

NERANTE
[/i] He said with a nod and began to go through the herbs stocked. "Yarrow.. wild garlic.. watermint.... poppy seeds.." He called out the names of some stocks that were growing low. They would need to fetch some more soon. Perhaps Nerry could head out with Iarri sometime. "You've been adjusting well to life as a healer." He said thoughtfully. "Soon enough you'll be able to move from Nurse to Doctor." Nerante chuckled. Soon enough. Psychotic secret killer or not, Nerante was without a doubt a talented, though dangerous, healer.[/ul][/blockquote]
