Orpheus Donovan, Ali Donovan, DarkMoon Donovan, DarkStar Donovan, Darian Crimson, Darius Crimson, Devyn Naral Donovan Kain, Flame II Ephriam Donovan, Iris Da'ei Xemvoi, London Faire-Donovan, Lorelei Donovan, Malluce Fune Donovan, Saku Donovan, Samara Kairia Donovan-Mamoranek, Shaw Donovan, Shinku Knight Crimson, Neraine Caliver-Iden, Vespera Dakasa-Donovan, Vitanali Zidek-Kain, Finn Crimson-Caliver, Ebony Caliver-Helios, Kenya Sulliveri, Leonardo Faire-Donovan, Zoria Crimson-Xemvoi.
The trip was long, tiring, exhausting. Orpheus had dried scratches on his pelt from when Vitanali lashed out at him - but she fared no better. He wouldn't tolerate the disobedience that his grand niece gave - even if it was odd to think of her as such. Still, when she had lashed at him, lost her mind for that split moment in time, he could not hold back from asserting the fact he is still their leader. He is King of Meurtrier. Perhaps he'd been a tad harsher than necessary - but there was no other way to get his point across.
Vitanali kept her distance from Orpheus because of this. That and she couldn't imagine being close to him after the way she'd lashed out. It was uncalled of her but revenge was and still is the only thing on her mind. She wanted nothing else but to tear Kimiko's throat out and was absolutely enraged that Orpheus had given up on continuing their search for them. Neraine trailed not far from Vitanali, her eyes on the sour feline and making sure the other 'ess made no other attempt to lose whatever dignity she had left. The Caliver had to admit, she wasn't happy with Vitanali - first dragging her out there based on their friendship and then making a fool of herself. But Neraine couldn't deny that Orpheus' quick responses to her were surprising. Surprising and quick witted.
He'd told them that no one was going to continue to go after her - not without a sound lead. Told them that if any of them tried to leave right here and now, they would not be welcomed back and they had the option to either come back to Meurtrier without a fight, or lose membership. He told them he wouldn't tolerate disobedience. They were all things Neraine herself probably would have said. Dark eyes flashed briefly before the little 'ess brushed the thoughts away. She wished nothing more than to simply return back to Vespera's side and no more.
Regardless, they returned to Meurtrier - the entire group - empty-pawed, tired, and perhaps agitated in some cases. And relieved in others. Orpheus had half a mind to speak to Shinku and Project later. Shinku had not had the chance to report on his absence back on D'animaux lands and Orpheus felt the need to reassure Project that at a later date, they would attempt to get his children back. Ison needed thanking as well. For accompanying them. He also needed to speak with Daemon and Odysseia as soon as possible for several things. Zalui and Circa too. It was time to set things into motion. And they would have war on their paws soon, there was no doubt about it...
Orpheus just couldn't believe how soon peace would end because of one spoiled brat...
A roar escaped his maw as soon as the patrol crossed the border, his pace having picked up. A calling for the pride as he made his way to the throne. Announcing their return home.
...And it pissed him off like no other.

ODYSSEIA, BALTHIER II, CARNAL, DEVIN, FEAR, KODIAC, MORGAN, NERRY, ABYSSIA, APOLLO, CHRONOS, KADIN, KADYN, SLITHER, VINCENT, WALTER, KAINE, MORTHOR, ASESINO
[ALLIES - CALIVER] CAESAR, ISON
Odysseia had been at peace lounging near the throne with her eyes half-closed when the scent of a returning party hit her. Soon after, merely moments, came Orpheus's roar. She stood up with a yawn and looked into the distance as the group returned. Her eyes narrowed and she remained silent, moving into a comfortably seated position to await the news.
Vincent and Caesar - it is safe to say you rarely find one without the other - are presently in Meurtrier after a days expedition down from the mountain to see how Meurtrier was doing. And what timing at that! They had been privately discussing something when a patrol returned. The boys turned to look at Orpheus as he ascended for the throne and the pride gathered.
Balthier II and Nerry sat just outside of the healer's den. Abyssia scurried over to sit near Vincent, but not too close. Asesino sat with her head held high, beside her sat Morgan and Apollo. Devin, Kodiac, and Fear sat with Kadin and Kadyn near the Dark's den. Chronos, Morthor, Walter, Kaine, and Slither all curled up had rose with the call of attention; each headed together, close for warmth, to see what was to be said.
With the returned patrol walked Ison, near the back-end of the group. Quiet, staggering, slow.

Project Caliver | Iarri Kannon | Osic Donovan | Zalui Xemvoi | Corona Sulliveri | Xaphan Crimson - Xemvoi | Naberius Donovan - Crimson | Finnegan Caliver - Helios
The return back into Shadow Veldt was one both welcomed and loathed. Project found it lightening to be back home, but there was no denying his disappointment. Having nothing to show for their venture was downright annoying, but they had also left to not only find Kimiko but to also acquire a Meurtrian body. Project walked in sync with his son Cross yet broke away to begin heading toward Iris and Devyn's den. The male had been itching to return to his youngest, to reassure them that he indeed had not left them like their mother. Once rejoining with the cubs, he would thank the Xemvoi - Donovan mates before escorting the youth to the now called gathering.
Iarri had been doing small instruction with any healer trainees who cared to learn. Upon Orpheus's surprising call, Iarri ended the already short lesson and began to join the others. The red 'ess politely moved through the crowd, her eye scoping out the members of the scouting party. She wanted to access for wounds, no matter how minor. Her gaze traveled up to the returned King and caught the barest of cuts upon his pelt. She made a mental note and would be sure to pester him later once the meeting was over. Couldn't have any infections festering.
Osic, Corona and Xaphan arrived to the gathering around the same time. Osic embraced Circa before she would most likely approach the throne. Corona lowered to the ground calmly, crossing her paws and welcoming any of her children that joined her. Xaphan moved to join her smaller relative Naberius who was positioned near his mother.
Young Finnegan hung close to his own mother. He peeked out from around her in curiosity. This was his first Pride meeting.

Caylis & Evangeline Caliver & Icarus II Kunne-Sulliveri & Rin Coraline Crimson Caliver
Black and crimson finds it's way through the Veldt. An entire patrol has come back to the Veldt that had been marked with points of bloody pasts. Blue orbs gleam from the darkness, Caylis watches from shadow. Though she has no idea what is up and about, Caylis observes silently, her eyelids felt as if they could carry the earth. She watches from the back of the crowd, resting her eyes, her head bowed, not wishing to be seen or peered at. Then again, life was a bitch so Caylis expects the worst once again.
Evangeline, meanwhile, brushes her tail affectionately, briefly against Finnegan's pelt, she offers a space for her children to sit beside her. Her navy gaze lands upon Lord Daemon, her mane shadowing her face.
Icarus takes a seat beside his mother, his ears perked, wondering what in hell's name is going on now. He frowns subtly, knowing that from the gloom of the returning patrol that the game is already over. More danger? A silent, inaudible growl forms in his throat. He isn't surprised, nor is he impressed. Icarus has matured over the last few weeks which was rather unusual. Oh, well. There are worse things in this world.
Gentle footsteps could be heard as Rin enters the scene. Her crimson optics scan the area, her features harden and a cold puff of air escapes her mouth, her lips part as she notices her father from the corner of her eye. She will try and approach him later, but for now, there are duties to be preformed and she'd be damned if she should fail. She listens as she appears nearby Iarri, ready to do as ordered, her expression serious.

The fact that no one was allowed to leave without permission hindered the mole's mission. Kenji was more than just annoyed with the new rule, but there was little he could do about it. Making a scene or attempting to sneak out could blow his cover and ruin his mission. Besides it could cause issues for his family in the Veldt.. He had spent most of his time lately just lurking around and observe. Eavesdrop if possible. But not much was gathered so far. Kenji was swift to appear when the roar echoed through the area. Such roar ment news, more information he could gather. He joined Corra and cubs, a warm smile on his "mask" like nothing extraordinary had been going on in his life. Riva also appeared when the roar echoed, despite not being a part of the Meutrian pride, she felt it was neccesarily to keep herself updated.
Chandler dashed after his father when he saw him rush past him to join the gathering. Another member, Edith followed closely behind him. They parted directions once they approached the gathering. Edith went to her mother, Evangeline, while Chandler headed for Kenji and Corona. Both seated themselves near their respective families and waited.

Circa enjoyed the warm embrace from Osic before she moved toward the throne, to take her usual spot as the king returned. Sitting on the throne's side, she curled her tails around her paws and waited.
Cross on the other hand was approaching with the away team, as well as Kazbek. Both looked a little beat from the trip, and not to happy on either side. Kazbek was wondering what would happen next- would they announce Mok's death to the pride? How could he ever look Carnal in the eyes this time? But Cross... Pressed close to Vitanali as always, he was brooding, planning. This would not be the last time he at least tried to enact revenge. Just because Meurtrier failed didn't mean he was going to end his plight. But that was for another day, another time...
(sorry, short, trying to get back into the swing of things)

Orpheus Donovan, Ali Donovan, DarkMoon Donovan, DarkStar Donovan, Darian Crimson, Darius Crimson, Devyn Naral Donovan Kain, Flame II Ephriam Donovan, Iris Da'ei Xemvoi, London Faire-Donovan, Lorelei Donovan, Malluce Fune Donovan, Saku Donovan, Samara Kairia Donovan-Mamoranek, Shaw Donovan, Shinku Knight Crimson, Neraine Caliver-Iden, Vespera Dakasa-Donovan, Vitanali Zidek-Kain, Finn Crimson-Caliver, Ebony Caliver-Helios, Kenya Sulliveri, Leonardo Faire-Donovan, Zoria Crimson-Xemvoi.
The further he moved into the pride's territory, the more his jaw clenched, teeth grinded, claws yanked grass from their roots. Upon his normally blank face, lips were curled back into a snarl. The group wasn't running into the territory, so large as his steps were, it still took him some time to get to his designated place, but even so, it was long enough for him to gather his thoughts the more he continued to close the gap between him and the throne - where Odysseia waited. Half the pride gathered upon his first roar. Good. But not good enough.
Another roar burst from his maw, louder this time - his brother must have been on patrol on the other side of the Veldt to not have shown quickly but that was the only concession Orpheus would give. Upon this one, he watched as more and more gathered around. DarkStar entered the area with his daughter at his side. Saku and London were not guarding the den like the usually did and Orpheus could see Kadence, Kadyn and Kadin walking up and about. They were rather big now it seemed. DarkMoon wasn't guiding them by the paws either any more. Good.
He could see Iris and Devyn approaching with their cubs - no shielding news for them, a good start to their lives. But Project's own cubs were among them. That's right, Project had asked Iris to look after them. He wouldn't forget to give his own thanks to Iris for caring for another's cubs. Samara appeared and Orpheus found her not far from where he could easily deviate on his path and brush against her in welcome - Samara would always be like a second mother to him. Then he was close enough and a quick snap of his wings as he unfurled them and beat down once allowed him to ascend the throne. He paused once upon there for a heartbeat to face Odysseia. "There are dark times ahead for Meurtrier once more." He murmured to her, his dark red eyes searching her bright green briefly before he turned around to face the pride - standing at her side.
A few more heartbeats had him watch as Ali, Malluce, Lorelei, Ephriam, Vespera and Zoria showed face - other cubs were with their mothers. His eyes flickered to Neraine as she sat beside Ison, to Vitanali whom remained next to Cross, her fur brushing his, to Kazbek and Project, to Shinku whom was reuniting briefly with his children before he sat beside DarkStar and looked upon them. To Circa whom remained at the base of the throne to Osic, Caylis, Abyssia, Kenji, Evangeline, Devin, Fear, Kodiac Corona, Xaphan, Vincent and Caesar. And more. So many Meurtrier members and they were his and his brother's responsibility.
He breathed in once, eyes closed as silence reigned in through out the area, and then his eyes snapped open and he stepped forward. "Many of you are aware that a patrol disappeared two to three weeks ago, myself among them. We left without a word, without warning. Project, Cross, Vitanali, Kazbek, Neraine, Ison of the Caliver Pride, and Shinku were among the patrol as I am sure many of you have figured out." He paused here, eyes roaming over the faces before him once more with a coldness to them that had not been seen before. The past days have left plenty of time for Orpheus to think, and think he did. Several things had crossed his mind during this time frame.
How did they disappear like so? Did a spy alert them to their movements? They obviously had outside help, but whom? What were their numbers? Orpheus' jaw clenched once more as these thoughts racked his brain again and he continued. "As you all know, Yui Gurnako was attacked hours before we left. Kimiko Crimson is the reason why. While that alone would have brought reasons to go and make an example of Kimiko, there's more." He paused again, eyes narrowing on Cross and Vitanali briefly before he continued roaming over the faces. It seemed as if he'd merely passed them over with a glance nothing more - but the two youngsters would know better. "Later that day, another member came to our dens and told us of another fate. Mok Donovan was in Forest - with a pride called D'animaux. His visit there was for an innocent reason, but he will not return back to Meurtrier." Another pause and he barely maintained his visage clear of rage at his next statement, barely able to keep the snarl out of his voice as he dipped his head and his claws scraped against the throne. "Kimiko Crimson caught him before he made it to his destination - and he was murdered by her claws." He paused here, allowing reactions to burst forth - his eyes scanning for Carnal in particular. How would the mother take it? One son lost to Koma, another son lost to his mother.
But not much was said after those words before growls and snarls of protests also filled the air. He could see Devyn already leaving Iris' side to go and find Carnal - and his own gaze rested upon Kazbek to find her as well in the crowd. She would need the support of all her loved ones in this moment. Devyn knew it was a long shot for Carnal to accept comfort from him - but he could try. Vitanali didn't move however. Her claws gripped the earth and she stared at the ground - but she did not make a single move to go to her mother. Part of her blamed herself. A larger part blamed her family. Even more so - the pride. Yet the biggest of them all was hatred solely for the one who did it, Kimiko Crimson. She'd murder that wench. Rip her other wing off. Finish what her brother started. And she would tear Kimiko limb from limb while the bitch was still alive. Make her suffer what she did to her brother.
Gonna tag Meur members because this is in fact, an important rp. Easy for slow replying of course - there's no big rush, but I'd like this rp at the top of reply lists please ♥ Thanks to those who have already replied. I'm going to post this in continuation of the rp - but any person who posts after may easily say that their character was here before Orpheus began to speak. katluver458: said that Daemon was in a patrol so it took him a sec longer to show up for you, but same applies - hope that's okay. kahara, TheWG, drifter, Dingo, Taboo, Avian, TimberWolfie, @anbrea, Caylisedit: no posting order btw

Many reactions went through the pride as the announcement rang out, but all hummed the same tune. Circa was surprised, taken aback at Kimiko's gall. She knew the lioness was crazy, but now she was bloodthirsty... Her gaze landed on Orpheus, were they going to discuss this? Then her blue eyes searches around for Daemon, who was still absent from the meeting, as were some other members. Hopefully the news would spread without having to announce the somber news again, poor Carnal would not handle the loss of another son well...
That was exactly what Kazbek was thinking as well. He had very nearly constricted in on himself as they described what happened to Mok, the pain of not only what had happened- but what was to come- was on his brain. How could he heal this would for Carnal? How could he even look her in the eye after not being able to even properly avenge him? And Connor as well... Wounds from his death were still all too fresh as it was. He could only imagine how rough things were going to be. And his daughters... He bear not even think how their mother's sorrows would affect them, if it would. Damn the witch that took his step- no, his sons, from him and cause pain to his wife. Claws scratched the ground in buried anger under a melancholy exterior, this would not be over for Kazbek. And he knew very well others thought the same... But anger was misplaced at this moment... As Devyn rose to go to Carnal, Kazbek followed suit, anxious to wrap his arms around his mate, but also terrified to see her. His walk to her was a forlorn one, but for her he would try to be what he always seemed; strong.
Cross watched as Kazbek trudged away, and he passed down a glance to Vitanali. She didn't make a move toward her mother, and this time he respected her decision, and said nothing. Only silence loomed between them, and the faint sound of pelts brushing tightly together. But unsaid words danced on Cross's concealed tongue, and questioned loomed in his brain... After many moments of shared silence, the anger on his face faded slightly, and he looked down to his companion. There was a question that had been on the back of his mind since they had begun to head back... One that ate at him as they sat here so close together, as they had since he had first returned with the news of Mok.
"Vitanali..." He muttered, to softly prod her attention. "Where do we go from here?" It wasn't a question about their eventual revenge, or even her brother at all. This time it was about them.

Project Caliver | Iarri Kannon | Osic Donovan | Zalui Xemvoi
He sat in silence, mostly wrapped in his own thoughts throughout the first part of the announcement. It wasn't like he didn't know all this already.
Bright blue eyes seemed to grow even bluer as they watered up a tad. Perhaps the news of Mok's death would not have hit her so hard if not for the fact that her own brother had raised him. Iarri searched the crowd before her, watching Kazbek move off toward where she could only presume Carnal was. Ears lowered and tail moved in to encircle her tightly. Later she would give her condolences. Now was not the time. Surely Orpheus had more to say about this.
To the news Osic's eyes lowered to the ground. Another nephew lost. Though he had never been much apart of his nieces and nephews lives, it was still painful to lose family. Though now they did not see eye to eye, and perhaps never would again, Osic still felt sorrow for his sister. He couldn't imagine losing one of his own children. The thought made his stomach churn.
In the back Zalui held onto his normal expression. He listened closely, but the news did not ignite such powerful emotions as it was doing to others. If Mok died then he had not been strong enough. Though he did not know this Kimiko personally, he knew of her. Many did. Her mellow dramas were hard to ignore. No matter how hard your tried. Apparently she was just some vain, whiny, egotistical bitch. If one of his sons had lost his life to one such as Kimiko Crimson... Well, Zalui would be quite embarrassed to say the least. One large claw tapped the ground while he was in thought. Anyone could guess what was going to be said next. "It would appear that war may be on our doorstep once more.." He mused aloud to the dark female that sat beside him. (Assuming Adel is with him.)

Chandler, Riva and Edith were all equally suprised by the gloomy news from the returning patrol. The Crimson Witch's selfish and obnoxious deeds were still haunting the Veldt's residents even long after her departure. Edith shivered by the thought of the Crimson. She sure was a gastly old lady who weaved nothing but negativity in her web of intrigues and foul play. Chandler on the other hand, had not seen much of the Crimson- luckily, and was happily oblivious of his father's arrangement with the Crimson Witch. Had he known... The news didn't suprise Kenji, it was something he would expect from Kimiko, but he faked a shocked face to melt in with the masses. How unfortunate how Meutrier was on a lockdown, he could certainly need a litte meeting with the other informant from Edel now to pass on the news of Meurtrier's discovery.

Daemon Donovan, Arc ' Apocalpyse' Crimson- Donovan, Emerson Donovan, Iodine Dahill, Memoria Whittaker- Donovan, Rayn Donovan, Titus Hulick, Yui Gurnako- Donovan, Fragment Gurnako- Donovan, Cyprus Sulliveri, Dakota Donovan- Kannon, Paris Crimson- Caliver, Blanca Donovan- VanArkle, Polyphemus ' Ka'ein' Xemvoi- Donovan, Wrench Dahill- KrowThe patrol of four, led by Dae and consisting of Emerson, Memoria and Yui, heard the bellowed calls, a low, mutual buzz and hum of excitement between them all as they quickly turned about to head back to camp, eager to learn of their success. But by the time they'd returned, things were in full swing, a pridemeeting, and by the harsh looks, low frosty words from quite a few of the pride, clearly they'd missed something in the while they'd been gone. So he dismissed them all to take a seat, listen carefully and try to get clued in on what's going on to the best of their abilities. Once that matter was taken care of, he jumped his way up on the smooth surface of the throne, at his rightful place by his brother's side. And Odysseia as well, giving a nod. "Welcome home." He rumbled quietly, only briefly interrupting his speech for that quick split second to greet him after so long it seemed, not wanting to break his focus or let him lose steam with the serious matter he was informing them all of. Perhaps he was finally telling them all of what the two of them, as the Dominants, already knew. What he now knew, by the lack of the she-demon's head laying in the center of camp. No wonder Orpheus looked so pissed, a rare sight indeed. There was no mistaking the battlewounds that littered his brother's pelt, something that made his blood boil. Kimiko was still at large. The assassination attempt had failed. But by the looks of it, they all managed to come home in one piece. Which was a good thing, that was all he truly cared about at the moment. The secret squad's month-allowed time limit was almost up, and he was preparing to send out a second patrol for them in just a few days. Thank Dante there was no need for that now. Who knows how many body's they could have possibly had to collect if things had gone any worse? They lived to fight another day. And second-chances were something he could afford to take if it would save more lives in the end. So he took a step back, sitting, looking over them all as he awaited what he knew was more to come. Arc, a newer member and one of the pair of King's many nephews, had come home in hopes of seeking out his father, Landon, but there was no such luck in that endeavor. Long gone, apparently. But he'd taken quite a shine to his cousin, one of Funeral's many daughters -- By Marlene, at least -- Memoria. The lady was pregnant by an interestingly scarce male, someone she wouldn't even name, but that was of her own choice, of course. She offered a smile, moving in beside him, and he began muttering quietly in her ear, catching her up on what he's heard so far. Not that they knew much of what was going on, but it was important for them to be there, to be supportive of their family in this dark time. Emerson moved off by himself, brows knit tensely, waiting and listening. He'd been told as much as he could by Daemon over the past few weeks of course, but there were some things even he was foggy on as nothing more than a senior member. But it wouldn't take long for him to put the pieces together, he wasn't a stupid male. Yui, now feeling much better and back up to snuff after the agonizingly long rest and finally being able to stretch her legs, let out a deep, rumbling snarl as she was singled out, her own particularly nasty history with the Crimson Witch only feeding into her dark want for revenge. Rayn, finally breaking away from the group at the sight of her return, pressed herself up against her side as usual, just glad to be back home with her in one piece, offering a bit of a tired smile. Calm yourself dear, her gaze said. Fragment and Titus were added along to their little reunited dual-team, Blanca sitting well-protected between her mothers paws with the Ash Leopard male standing tall and proud behind them. He hadn't failed her with watching over Yui while she was away. Iodine, letting her brand new brood of two out and about for a bit, a boy and girl named Horace and Wrench, chuffed loudly to call them to her side when the adults and larger cubs-teens alike started to gather. No need to have them flattened on one of their first outings. But after another moment or two, the sense of impending threat was too much for her. She took them both back to the nursery where they belonged and didn't emerge again. Not yet, at least. After they fell asleep, she'd probably let herself pop back out again to figure out what their next step was with this Crimson female they're speaking of. Cyprus and Dakota were with their respective families, eyes wide with wonder and confusion both. There wasn't much they could say or do, still in training to become real warriors, but they cast a sidelong glance at eachother from across the way, Cy eventually giving a shrug, at a loss, ignorant of the look on his sire's face. Poly too was with his parents and littermates, busying himself with darting about, chasing Paris' tail...But at the sight of his father, come home as if from a war, the growing Crimson-Caliver boy gave a wide grin, shaking him off sharply, for once happy to see him. Seems like he'd come to some sort of grown-up realization while Project was gone that maybe things weren't as bad as they seemed with his old man. The last thing he wanted was to see him dead, at least. So he followed when the lot of he and his siblings were led away to listen in on what happened with their mother, glad to be relieved of the little furballs bothering him day in and day out, at least. In the end, there was no surprise that she'd managed to get away... But overall, there will be plenty of time for catching up on lost time later for all of them. Now was the time to come together as one Kingdom. Come together once more against a building danger. w OW -shows up 5 years late to the party with starbucks- i think i covered everything, if not please please get ahold of me so i can edit accordingly @ >@))

Icarus frowned, his tail lashing with anger. He eyed Rin who seemed rather conflicted at the moment. He eyed his siblings only for them to reflect his own emotions.
Evangeline frowned, her tail curling protectively around her children.
Caylis frowned as more danger has arisen. Her eyes narrowed, blue orbs gleaming from shadows. Once again, Meurtrier was shrouded in darkness. Her eyes shifted towards her children, and she felt her heart shatter. So Kazbek had children... As a grandmother, Caylis felt hurt. Despaired... Enraged. Though her wrath would be nothing compared to Carnal and Kazbek's grief. She would give her children her condolences later - at least if they'd allow it - but now was simply not the time.
Should she ever see this Kimiko witch, she would literally give her hell to pay. Then again, everybody wants to rule the world. All her own personal despairs washed away. The pain of the past must be rid of. That was her duty as a mother. Honestly, she didn't care about herself anymore. She only, truly cared about the safety of the ones she loved.. even if they did hate her.
Caylis felt the tension in the air rise ever higher.
The healer's apprentice felt numb, all the warmth she had felt was gone, replaced by astonishment, anguish, confusion, anger and the cold of the winter weather. It was as if she was porcelain, if someone would touch her, she would shatter to pieces. Quite frankly, Rin didn't know what to believe anymore. The fighting never stopped. Day after day it grew worse. Talk of peace was just that: talk. There was no headway, no reconciliation. The only thing that continued to repeat over the months and years were the bodies, mangled, burned, drowned and torn asunder in every way imaginable; the grief, the hatred... it was an endless cycle.
It was this day that Rin had truly matured and had understood the true meaning of this wretched world. Though, where there was darkness, there was always a light. She eyed her mistress, and felt hot tears stream down her cheeks, though her face was shadowed by her hair. The winter whirlpool in her heart threatened to drown her within it's rapid depths, to never resurface. Rin was a Meurtrian for a reason. And that reason was to provide hope, to endure for the sake of the future.

ODYSSEIA, BALTHIER II, CARNAL, DEVIN, FEAR, KODIAC, MORGAN, NERRY, ABYSSIA, APOLLO, CHRONOS, KADIN, KADYN, SLITHER, VINCENT, WALTER, KAINE, MORTHOR, ASESINO
[ALLIES - CALIVER] CAESAR, ISON
Many roars and angry protests; shocked faces and upset frowns, tore through the crowd. Ison, Caesar, and Vincent remained quiet. Though Vincent was clearly deep in thought. Asesino growled beneath her breath, distressed with the decision that Kimiko had made. It put her in an uncomfortable position. Odysseia also remained mostly quiet, merely nodding her head at the leaders as she listened. Though through the loud chatter that broke out, none seemed louder than the sudden roar of Carnal as she suddenly began to barrel straight down the center of the gathered pride.
"I'LL KILL EVERYTHING SHE LOVES!" Carnal roared out in anguish and anger. Odysseia quickly stood up. Carnal had avoided her mate and family when they went to find her. She bee-lined it for Orpheus and Daemon. "We must go out NOW. We NEED to get her and her family and KILL THEM!" She shouted. "KILL EVERYONE SHE LOVES!" Carnal whipped around at the crowd and dared them with her gaze to challenge her decision.

Mirth She had been practicing with Iarri, and upon hearing the roar had followed her instructor out. Mirth did not immediately walk off to find her family- though she did take note of where they sat. She instead took a look at the returning party, slightly disturbed by their grim expression- especially Orpheus's.
Slowly, Mirth started toward her mother and the rest. However, Orpheus's words froze her just before reaching them. She was too young to know who exactly this Kimiko Crimson was, but she had heard whispers every now and again between the adults of the pride. It was not anger or the need for vengeance that rose within Mirth, instead it was overwhelming empathy toward Carnal and her family. She could imagine the pain of losing a loved one well enough, but she didn't truly know how it felt. Still, her imagination was enough to let her eyes water, though that was the extent of it. Her face remained solemn once she gathered herself.
Mirth had taken the path of the healer, not the fighter, and so she did not readily accept the thought of war. However, she did believe that Carnal and her lot deserved justice. Surely, this "Kimiko" would be punished for her actions! However, just as she was thinking this, Carnal practically shoved past in a rage. Ears flattened, slightly distressed by the grieving mother- Mirth had clearly underestimated the anger and pain from losing a loved one.
She would not say anything, though she did have her own opinion about seeking out Kimiko, her family, and the ones she loved. It just seemed like too much. Perhaps she had been naive when she wished for just Kimiko's death. Now that she thought about it, it was more likely that Kimiko's family would lash out should she be killed. The trail of blood and revenge would never end at the rate it was going. ( Sorry it's so late guys- I debated on replying with her for a while now..simply because she doesn't have any real effect upon what is going on in the rp itself. In the end, I thought I should at least take this small opportunity to do some character development and let you guys know that she's active.)

Daemon's arrival was beyond welcome but he was barely able to pin down his rage for a proper reply for his brother. A tail sweep against his brother's flank would have to do as an outburst caught his attention. Carnal's outburst was expected - and completely welcome within Orpheus' mind. Her rage flowed through him, encouraging his own anger, rippling through his very veins as he watched her explode and yell out. His lips curled back in a welcoming, silent snarl at her words and he nodded ever so slightly. "And we will Carnal. Bring her down." His tone was dark, darker than normal, filled to the brim with something so utterly dangerous and unexpected from the normally collected King that it was near frightening to those whom where young and not used to such an experience.
It was best they learn. "We will bathe Meurtrier Lands with her blood. Soon." And yet, Orpheus reigned himself in, pulling his anger and blood-lust back under control. His gaze fell on Project once more. "The children with her, however... Will have a chance at redemption." He did not pause before he snapped out his next statement before any protest could flash within the air. "That is non-negotiable!" His gaze flickered around, challenging, daring anyone to protest, landing on Carnal, on Vitanali in this as well. He had attacked the daughter once before, he would do so again, and he would attack the mother if he had to. "Mark my words, they will have a choice. One chance to choose. No more no less."
"However, we will not attack them now." His eyes roamed the members before him, the normally dark, blood red gaze was darker than normal, nearly black with the rage that filled him, and challenging them to go against his words. "My brother and I are not naive enough to send another patrol out when we do not know her numbers - or her strength. Kimiko Crimson has help. Magic is on her side. Something we have little of. I will not endanger our members any more at this point and time. We will raise our young, train them to protect themselves as we have not in the recent past. Make sure they can fight for themselves against all sizes and all things - magic included. And..." His lips twisted into a greater snarl, this time the sound leaking into his voice. The bitch knew we were coming." His growl grew stronger with these words. "She managed to flee before we could fully catch up with her, leaving no scent behind."
"Our pride is large enough that we must begin to learn to trust one another once more - as well as become wary of those we may possibly not be able to trust. I am not against the idea of there being a spy within our ranks. And it is as of this moment forth that no member should travel alone. Adults must remain in pairs or more, children with three adults around. Teenagers in groups with at least one adult. Healers with at least three warriors on their outings for protection. Patrols will be every day, every hour on rotation so we never miss a spot. No one leaves without at least speaking to us - not for permission sake, but for your own well being.
"If there is any chance that Kimiko and her pride catches you on your own - there is no saying if we can help you. We are a pride, a family. And if you so choose to leave, you must go with at least one other. No wandering off on your own any longer - and if you do... You will be held accountable for reasonable suspicion. Absolutely no outsiders are permitted within our lands without one escort. We will still welcome them of course, and not be rude or hostile if they mean no harm, but there is no reason that any outsider should be lurking near our lands. King Cocaine, may he rest in peace, took away allies for a reason. You are either fully with us - or against us. No more leaving as you please." Orpheus finished, his teeth clenched as his fangs flashing, claws scraping against the stone beneath them.
The rush of information that Orpheus laid on them was damn near overwhelming. Shinku remained stoic however, his face blank and unreadable. He knew his faults - he had helped Kimiko escape by telling his brother of the troubles she'd soon face. And no one. Not one damn soul. Would ever know this secret he harbored. DarkStar remained silent at his side - he did not remember a leader so strict and demanding in his time as they spewed order after order. But part of him... The part that had been under Dante felt right back at home.
DarkMoon remained absolutely silent at his side, her tail subconsciously lifting to gently brush against her daughter's flank. Neraine shifted, her eyes seeking Vespera and both of them shared such a look that had them knowing to seek one another out later. Samara looked upon the King brothers with a weariness that she had not once possessed. It was different, seeing Orpheus like this. The roles reversed as Daemon was silent and as Orpheus spoke with such a challenging, daring and demanding tone. A quick glance around showed unease filtering among the pride. Change was on the horizon.
Vitanali had been about to answer Cross when her mother burst forth. Her lip curled back in pure distaste. She hadn't even known her own son was sneaking off, to caught up in her new cubs with Kazbek to notice. It was pathetic, unworthy. She didn't deserve to have such a rage. She hadn't been there for Connor, she hadn't been there for Mok. But as angered as she was at her mother's words, she couldn't help but agree with them. At least, until Orpheus caught her attention once more. And with each word that he spoke, she bristled, her fur rising along her spine, distaste spilling forth as she glared upwards at him... Until that harsh look landed upon her. The look that she had faced and failed against back on the patrol when he had momentarily fought her and pinned her down. Vitanali averted her gaze down to her paws in a fury, her claws grinding the grass beneath them to bits.
