so, just thought would be interesting. Private thread between me and Blade, permission was granted of course. and this is just a one time deal so don't panic.
Late night, dark skies over head spotted with glistening stars that blinked, winked and shined above. It was rather quiet, the stray cricket daring to chirp in the reeds somewhere in the distance. The land was still, creatures hunkered down for the night, the perfect time to travel undetected.
The deathly black male made his way through the vast territory, his head was high as his long strides carried him closer, a lone golden orb peered ahead dead set on making it through. The male had seen better days, though his coat was still that eerie shine of black scars marked every part of his body, his left had been sealed by a gruesome wound and there was a significant limp to his trot.
As he drew closer to the borders of La Morte he slowed to a walk then eventually stopped completely, taking a moment to collect himself the large male sat down, long tail curling around his paws. Deimus was hoping his little message got to the right ears, and though he did not fear La Morte, he was simply here for one thing; his daughter.

Najisi Kain The ess was worried about this meeting. For all she knew it was a trap. But she didn't tell the others of it. Najisi simply didn't want to worry them. If it was true.. then it might have been awkward to tell anyone. Slowly she made her way to the border. Her cubs nestled in their current den for the night. Slowly and cautiously she approached. It was hard to see the male from afar, his black coat blending with the night. But her bright violet eyes caught the single golden shimmer of his. As she neared, she held her breath. Had her father come to do what he should have long ago? Naji still remembered when he ate two of her siblings. "Dei-- Father.." She said, keeping quiet to not alarm nearby sleepers. He looked horrible. The moonlight showing his abused body. Her heart ached to see her once dominant father look so.. frail..

As he waited he kept an eye on his surrounds, though Deimus was in retirement, or hiding depending on how one looked at it, the old boy still kept tabs on some of his old members. It was a hard thing to do since most of his little messanger birds ended up dead, he supposed that's what happened when he used the young. But he was aware that an active feud was going on in the lands and he wanted to make this as quick as possible as to have either of them caught in the night.
It didn't take long for movement to catch his eye, she came at her own pace, coming forward to meet him, and alone, it made his heart beat a little faster that she had trusted him at least that much to take his word seriously. The brute hadn't been the best father, or the best of leaders really, it was all in the past now though and his daughter, had been the only one of his to rule a pride.
When she reached him Najisi spoke in a quiet whisper, his tattered ears twitched forward, gold eye shining with a new light and the corners of his mouth started to curve in a smile. Deimus had some words for his daughter, ones only she needed to hear. "Hello Najisi, or would you prefer M'Lady? Queen?" His voice was a deep whisper, a bit raspy from the years that past, Deimus looked old and was old but he could still hold his own, if need be, Karenza would have his head if he came back with new wounds but oh well. "A leader and a mother, I would have to admit I didn't see any of this coming."

Najisi Kain Naji staid still. Her tail held almost aggressively. A trait she picked up from all these wars. Don't show weakness. She was queen. She needed to be dominant. Needed to show that no matter who they were, she was still going to kick their ass if they dare threaten her pride. But she relaxed a bit at his words. Though a bit of a snort escaped. "I know. You always assumed I'd end up dead.. A failure.. or a prisoner of war.." She said almost darkly. She remembered. Sam was the favorite. He was bloodthirsty and cruel, but still loved her. She missed him. She also remembered being sent to Yokoshima and left there. Though she was young at the time and didn't understand everything that had been going on. She couldn't fault her dad though. Nor her mother. In the end, they were still family. When it all boiled down to it, that was your biggest legacy. Najisi knew this all too well. "I just had my third litter. Times have not been good. We are at war. Its why I came alone. The others.. those that don't know you, would have likely attacked you. We've already suffered several deaths.."

He huffed, had he really been that rash? Well if so karma had caught him eventually, Deimus was not only now in retirement, but also lacked the company of any of his offspring. With no family around, and well no followers Deimus was a lonely soul, if not for Karenza he probably would have slipped away to his insanity completely.
He didn't let his daughter's words hurt him, it was in the past and she had done well for herself without him. That was fine by him, his single eye looked over the territory, wishing for some extra time to wander about and take in what was being done. But he knew that privilege would only get him and her into trouble. Besides at the mention of her third litter he brought his attention back to Najisi.
"Never was fond of the thought of being a grandfather," he said with a small chuckle, it was a bittersweet comment, but this wasn't about him. His selfish ways were done with and he really just wanted to cut some threads that dangled in his conscience."It will be hard for you to believe anything that I have to say at this point Najisi, but I came all this way just to see you, and I'm hoping you'll give this old bastard time to get it out."The two of them hadn't always gotten along, it was all his fault really, he was a bit to stubborn to admit it out loud, but hopefully by the end of the night they could be on neutral grounds.

Najisi Kain Despite her crude and snide remarks, the Queen was nervous. She still feared her father. He was always cunning and vile. She couldn't be certain of his loyalties. If he backed Meur, La Morte was over. But she kept her face as cold as stone. To hide her fear. "Well, you never were one for cubs. Even your own." She said with a teasing tone. She let her rump fall on the ground to show she was not being hostile. She snorted in a chuckle and smiled at Deimus. Of course she'd hear him out. Didn't come all this way to not listen to him. "Despite how much I feared you as a youngling.. you are still my father. I will listen to what you came to say. Cubs should always respect their parents."

"Well, to be honest, cubs weren't part of my plan," he stated matter of fact like, it was partial truth, he had never thought Karenza would have played a big part in his life or he would have bred so many cubs. His life had once had a plan to start a pride with his brother, but that had flunked rather fast. But that was the past and now his days were numbered, and there were a few things that needed to be laid out.
"But my up bringing is besides the point,"Getting back on track he looked at Najisi making sure not to falter with anything he was going to say to her. "You should know that besides the past, speaking only for the present, that I'm rather proud of you. Ignoring me you've become what I would have wanted from any of you." It was a rather unusual statement from Deimus himself, it was hardly never he gave compliments or gave praise. Though it was a heartfelt thing to say his face still held a dark glare but his single gold eye was set in warm glow as he looked at his daughter.

Najisi Kain Cubs never were part of anyone's plan. Sometimes she herself wished she never had any. Wished she was like Deimus. Then maybe it wouldn't hurt so much.. She sighed. She remembered the day that changed her life forever. A young inexperienced mother.. Lost in the world and trying to find her pride. Crossing the volcanic basin.. Most of the physical scars had faded. But the emotional wounds never even closed. With this war, she found herself having a reoccurring nightmare of the slaughter. She froze, mind halting as her father admitted his pride in her. Was he.. really proud? He always.. thought her unfit.. She was nothing to be proud of. She let Meur bully her and now they relentlessly attacked her family. She wasn't strong enough to stop them.. Some daughter to be proud of.. Though.. it did spark something in her. "You.. are proud of me? I.. I was the failure child. Samael was the son you wanted.." She said in a bit of shock. She wasn't arguing his claim. It was just.. a surprise to her. "Dad.. I.."

Being so truthful was a hard task, and to have Najisi question him was enraging, her questioning made him feel awkward and felt his words were not good enough for her. A frown tore over his face, muzzle wrinkled exposing the scars that remained free of fur, highlighting the markings. His single gold orb seemed to brighten in his anger that he held to control. Deimus wasn't angry at Najisi, he was angry that she questioned him, that she thought after all these years he would still be proud of Samael.
Scoffing loudly he turned his gaze off his daughter and past her. "Samael is of no concern to this family anymore," his jaws clenched the words were spat out in a rush. A stolen glance at Najisi and his muscles relaxed in his face smoothing out the wrinkles in his muzzle. "Know that I am only angry that he has not proven himself as you have Najisi. I was once proud to have a son like him, but now he only shames me. You did what he couldn't or refuses to do."
Samael was the oldest boy, one Deimus would have wanted to raised and teach so he would have been ready for leadership. Instead he ran off, gone from the family, of course he had other children, Najisi, Kardei, Hannibal and those he birthed with Yasha. But the honor of having a first born son follow in ones footsteps was one Deimus wanted to feel. Though, over time he came to realize he gained such a feeling knowing that Najisi was leading, not in the Asylum but as a queen with the Kain name, and that's all he could have asked for in the end.
Calmed a bit he shifted in his spot, that single orb soothed a bit and he laid his gaze back on his daughter. "I won't lie to you Najisi, at this age I don't have much left to lose. I won't repeat myself either, but as my child, as Karenza's child you have done this old fool some good." He said voice smoothed over and holding a fatherly voice, it was deep with compassion and promise, it would be hard to believe such a beast being so loving. But his clock was tickling to a near end, and soon no one would remember him, he would at least like to be remembered by one, and he was proud it was Najisi.
