Crimson paws walked across the open alpine of the veldt, pausing to allow their master to raise her muzzle and breathe in the crisp morning air. She had stopped in the middle of a clearing; this was the first time in a long while that she had willing exposed herself out from behind the cover of shadows. She ignored her discomfort and scanned the area, looking for any sign of movement, of life. She was seeking to find a certain someone, but as the two groups that frequented these lands had many members, she had to make sure that she ran into the right person. She rotated her ears this way and that, not wanting to be caught off guard, and flicked her tail nervously. "I know you're around here somewhere, old man," she whispered, chuckling a bit at her own joke. He would hear; he would come.

COCAINE CALIVER

The young fem winced in surprise, and whipped around to see Cocaine facing her. Spotting the throne not far off behind him, she mentally scolded herself for being so careless in not fully observing her surroundings. She could have been seen. Calming herself, she took a deep breath before addressing her father. "Captain- no wait, Commander," she spoke in a light, mocking tone as she made a great show of bowing to him. "You've moved up the corporate chain, even though you more-or-less gave the position to yourself. You practically run the place," she joked, speaking as though she had never been gone. Braithe may have even cowered before him once, but no longer.

COCAINE
Cocaine said jokingly. He rolled his shoulders. One would be surprised to find it didn't take much to impress Cocaine if you were his own child. Don't act like a cowering wimp, man up, and do what you had to and the commander would be more or less pleased. "So dear, it's been a while. What's on your mind?" Or, what brings you out. Cocaine wanted to know.[/ul][/blockquote]

Braithe blinked in surprise, having not expected him to be so agreeable. She shook her head, causing her cocoa-colored mane to fall in front of her eyes. "Yeah, 'Lord' Funeral seems to have become a sort of recluse. I haven't seen him around much, and that's saying something, since I'm always watching," she spoke darkly. Looking him straight in the eye, she continued. "Well, I've been thinking of coming back to Meurtrier... even though I technically never left. Living alone was fun at first, but honestly, it's become rather boring," she said, a smirk forming on her lips. "Who knows, maybe I could even help balance things out a bit, what with all of the drama that's been happening lately."

COCAINE CALIVER
He said. "I'm surprised you lived on your own for as long as you did. Be it an unofficial or official leave from Meurtrier. Your time alone, I hope, was well spent. You are welcomed to stay, and encouraged to stay, in Meurtrier.. though," He rolled his shoulders and frowned. "If you do stay, I should hope to never see you ditch because of the war. It's a serious matter." Cocaine said.[/ul][/blockquote]

Braithe emitted a sound not unlike choking at her father's last comment, before coughing and correcting herself. "The war with La Morte... that could all have been avoided, at least for a while," her voice solemn. "I'm sure they would have handed over Brynneth gladly enough; no one else would have gotten injured, been murdered... or taken prisoner," she was growling now, and began to angrily claw at the ground, clearly upset about what had taken place. "And now... not only does Meurtrier have to worry about threats from the outside, but also from within its own ranks," she leveled her gaze with his, "Don't deny it. You know as well as I, or any of the others, do. Meurtrier has seen better days, surely enough."
She sighed and lowered herself into a sitting position on the grass, not taking her eyes off the commander. "I wont leave again unless I'm absolutely driven to it, though not by fear. I may not approve of the current situation, but I will help however I can to correct such things," she looked away, an uncomfortable subject still on her lips. "And... I hope you and Funeral don't plan on harming that cub of Najisi's. It can't help who it was born to."

COCAINE CALIVER
He paused. The cub wouldn't be killed, though anything was possible. "Is undecided.." Cocaine trailed as he looked over Braithe. She had certainly grown. With her own opinions and standing strong for them, for what she believed in. Not falling to bow for Cocaine, simply because he had an opinion too. Braithe offered discussion and honest input, thinking material for the commander. He expected great things from her.[/ul][/blockquote]

The 'ess said nothing as she listened to the commander's words, and remained silent even after for a few moments. "Ceon... yes, I suppose so. To be honest I hadn't really thought of him as being so involved." In regards to the cub, Braithe simply nodded; it wasn't her decision to make, after all. Rising to her paws, she shook out her pelt and looked to the throne and beyond. "I suppose I should go reintroduce myself then... Oh! As for my rank, well..." she looked back to her father, a smirk once again fresh on her muzzle. "With my experience, I would probably best serve the pride as a spy. Apologies to anyone who must be laid off in my stead," she chuckled, turning away.
