"Yeah!" Toberon squeaked in agreement with his sister. "What are they going to do? Throw us in the lava? Our dads wouldn't let that happen! And.. and besides, maybe they're nice and we become friends." He let out a snicked at his sister's suggestions. This would be the perfect opportunity to check out not only the Grotto, but it's residents as well. It was like the ultimate forbidden fruit for Toby. He just had to know. He was eager for discovery. "If something happens, you can just fly us out of there. We're like a team, right?" He crouched down and wriggled his hindquarters before creeping up to the entrance and peeking his head around the rock. "Come on, guys. I think.. I think we're good."

CASPER & FARRAH
Farrah said with a grin as she bounced around her brother. They were going to have so much fun here! So much to do and see; all of the trouble they could get into. But they were small, young, not easily seen. Sometimes not easily missed. Casper shook his head. "I guess. But I can't really fly right yet -- so it's a big request to fly two chubby cubs out of here, myself included." He stated. Farrah's nostrils flared and she snorted. "I am not chubby!" Scolded the female. Casper rolled his eyes and padded forward. "Okay, Toberon, you lead then." Casper said. Farrah nodded enthusiastically.[/ul][/blockquote]

Toberon hesitated as he waved his tail and peered into the Grotto. He looked back at his two companions. "Awh, we'll be fine. I trust you guys." He paused for a few moments, looking to them both. They expected him to go in first? He hoped they didn't look to him for anything else. He was hoping someone else would go in before him and he could just follow. He wasn't much of a leader, but he guessed he was brave enough to do this. "Me? Uhmmm okay then." He shuddered as he slipped around the entrance. His eyes weren't quite adjusted to the darkness yet, but he waved to them with his tail to say that it was clear and that they could come in. He was barely a few feet in and the temperature difference was immense. He found his tongue lolling out as he panted. The heat issue was momentarily forgotten as he started looking at the rocks, particularly the crystals. They were quite captivating and he would have loved to know more about them. Were they magical? He had never seen anything so pretty. Even the ground under his paws sparked his interest. He watched as veins of lava pulsed beneath his paws. And the pools of lava..! No wonder it was so hot! A draft of cooler air from the entrance snapped him out of his wonder and he looked to see if Casper and Farrah were behind him.

Caspian's expression demonstrated a bit of worry. "I'll go gray at this rate," he grumbled under his breath. The large cub picked up the scent trail of his brother and a few others. He and his brother were going to be late for Jasper's lesson, and he did not want to disappoint his more loving father. Cocaine seemed a bit colder, and he did not want both his fathers to be as such. Cocaine was like a cool, soothing balm, and Jasper a warm, comforting flame. They were a good mix of personalities. He was still having trouble understanding why they were not mates. "Casper," he groaned loudly.
Neo sat in silence as he toyed with the very slowly dying wretch. The feline was hardly recognizable at this point and Neo seemed completely unfazed. A soft, pitiful cry seeped from the creature's jaws, which hung limply, as the most important bones had been shattered. "Why would you have tried to poison my brother's rabbit? Certainly you had known this was coming." The monstrous creature somehow completely disappeared into the shadows, given his dark pelt and the way darkness often seemed to unnaturally enfold him. Soft, cub voices reached his ears and the remaining ear lowered. He had been at this for a few days, so he was sure he could let his prey die now. Right as the first head peeked in, he used his long tongue to pull the creature's skull into his mouth and a hardly audible crunch ensued. The body, now headless, fell away onto the warm rock and was swiftly shoved into the molten rock. "You children should not be here," came the deep, rather ominous voice. His luminous, fiery eyes were all that were visible for a few moments. Then his head came into the light, horns and all. The burning body caused flames to erupt here and there, a foul odor filling the air which already reeked of brimstone.

CASPER & FARRAH
She whispered in hushed excitement. Casper was further back and shrugged his shoulders casually. "Guess so. It's pretty cool." He said. Farrah huffed and rolled her eyes, as if to say he was a joy kill, but kept on doing her thing. A distant voice caught his attention, a familiar one at that. His brother! He was going to turn and respond when a dark beast came out and warned them that they should not have been there. Casper jumped in surprise, heart racing. In the moment, too surprised to realize who it was, he left the Grotto without a second thought and raced out, raced right past Caspian, and hide behind one of the nearby trees. Farrah on the other hand was glued to the ground, wide-eyed at the beast and bristling in alarm. "W-who says! M-Meur o-owns this!"[/ul][/blockquote]

Toberon welled with amazement as he continued to gaze around the cavern. He looked at his sister with excitement as she joined him. "I wanna live here! So much-.. Why wouldn't they want us to come here? I knew they wanted keeping fun stuff to themselves!" The young male started stumbling over his words as he tried to take in the entire scene. Toberon's wonder was short lived. He turned around to see Casper's reaction to experiencing the cave for the first time, but the other cub was long gone. "Huh?" Farrah was still with him though, even as a sickening stench settled around them and a voice came from the darkness. The young cub shivered. Apparently they had not been alone at all. Toberon felt his breath and words catch in his throat once more, but this time for a different reason. Finally, he managed to speak. "Wh-.. I-.. Hhhello, Mister." Although startled by this sudden turn of events, he couldn't forget his manners.. "Ohkay.. Why not?" His brows furrowed almost automatically. He tilted his head slightly, staring up at the creature that had just emerged from the darkness. "What are you doing?" Most of his fear was now replaced by cautious curiosity. Were they in his house? He tore his gaze away, sneaking looks behind the dark creature at the rest of the cavern, which was now lit slightly more by the burning body and glow of the crystals.

Caspian heard a familiar voice echo from the cave, his uncle. Casper had been caught? This could not be good. Jasper had told them not to go near that place unsupervised. He bit his lower lip and proceeded forward a bit more before he was almost barreled over by his brother. "Aiyeee!" he squealed, tripping over his own feet in his scramble to get out of the way. "Casper!" he shouted. "What are you doing?!" he demanded as he got back to his feet, his fur on end. "Did uncle catch you?" He stared as his brother, hiding behind one of the trees. "What are you doing? Why are you hiding?" He padded up to Casper with his head tilted to the side, not quite so worried now. "We're going to be late."
Neo rose up, standing, his horns brushing the low ceiling, carving lines in the soft, volcanic rock. "Indeed they do, but last I checked,, cubs were not permitted here unsupervised." He walked through the magma, merely to make a point. When he stepped out, he was unharmed, though molten rock dripped off of him and his chest like thick ooze. "Seeing as there are few members of this pride that are immune to the magma, this is a very dangerous place. And until you can prove your responsibility, I can not allow you here." His gaze was narrowed and his tone cold, to the point where it seemed to chill the air. He had seen Caspian dash out at the last moment, thus he would need to address his nephew as well. He spread his wings, creating a barrier between the cubs and the pit of molten rock. It blocked out the warm light fairly well so that the only light source was that of the cave opening. "Now, your parents are Tear and Delirious, right? Shall I go inform them of this? Or are you going to leave now?"

CASPER & FARRAH
Casper snapped and shook his head. They WERE going to be late and it was his fault. Farrah, rather than frightened, was intrigued and angry. Amazed that such a beast existed, but annoyed he was trying to boss them around. She puffed out her chest and walked up to him, head cranked back to look up at his face. "Who made YOU boss. I never heard Mr. Cocaine or Mr. Funeral saying we couldn't go in here!"[/ul][/blockquote]

With Neo's wings blocking the rest of the cavern, Toberon strained himself to find a gap he could look through. He wasn't sure why they had to leave in such a hurry.. they only wanted to look around. Shouldn't they at least be granted the favor of being able to look around the very place they resided? He also shared many of Farrah's feelings about being told to leave. He didn't want to go.. but he didn't want to get in trouble either. They didn't go down there just to leave. He noticed that the beast hadn't entirely answered all of his questions. Toby still wanted to know what the big deal about this place was, and maybe what Neo was up to. Everything was this nosy cub's business. "Erm.. yes. Are you friends with them?" He stared up at Neo with rather wide eyes before they drifted away and tried once more to search the cave. "It's okay. Maybe we'll leave if we can have something cool to play with from here. A.. uh.. a souvenir. Like one of those red crystals." His ears flicked at the subtle sound of voices outside of the cave.

Caspian heaved and pressed his head into his brother's shoulder. "Dante said he would distract him. Dad said he was thinking of enrolling the lot of us in an academy." He shrugged his shoulders. "It's not that far. I'm sure we'll be fine if we run. I'm more concerned about uncle Neo." Jasper always seemed to know what Neo was doing and vice versa. Hi's black wings fluffed a bit. "What were you doing with them anyway? Was the grotto cool?"
Neo heaved at the children. Their attitude was not appreciated. At least, the young female's was not. "And here I thought you were little members of Jaaku. If it isn't a rule, I'll address the leaders about it in a few minutes." He was debating on picking both cubs up, however, the male cub seemed a bit more tactful. He waved a paw at the female and would gently poke a paw at her chest, to hopefully force her back a few steps. He swiped his tail and there was a loud crack as part of a crystal broke off and was moved forward by one of his wings. To a cub it would have been rather large at at least a foot long and six inches round. "Satisfied?" he grumbled.

CASPER & FARRAH
He asked. The word was foreign to him as he'd never heard it before and had no idea what an academy was. Curiosity pulled at his fur. Casper looked over his shoulder; silently thanking their half brother Dante, and walked with Caspian. "Farrah and Toberon went in there after some adult told us not too. It was REALLY cool though.. just don't tell anyone that Uncle Neo spooked me, okay?" He looked back at his brother for reassurance. Farrah pouted and had to use much of her small restraint to not stick her tongue out at Neo in fear he may take it from her. She happened to love her tongue! It kept her clean and it aided her in verbal battles. Then the giant's paw, although only a poke, sent her stumbling back a few paw steps. "Hey, watch it! And no one made yoooou boss. You can't make the leaders do anything." She made a small hmph and sat down just as Neo placed a large crystal at their paws. Farrah hardly looked amused. "How're we supposed to carry it?"[/ul][/blockquote]

[style=float:left;margin:0px 15px 0px 0px;border:5px solid #3d0002;] Toberon gave a cub-like squeak as his sister was pushed backwards. "Be careful!" He tilted his head to see if she was alright, but a loud shattering snap made him jump a little. He looked up at Neo and then over at the crystal, excitement balling up in his chest. "Wow!" His hindquarters wiggled a little as he examined the crystal, but disappointment soon flushed through him as he realized that Farrah was right. He tried to think of ways that they could engineer something to take it with them. He tilted his head as he looked at it. It was a little jagged on one side and wasn't exactly what he imagined this souvenir to be like, but he supposed he didn't know what else to expect. He craned his neck and stood on his toes to look at it from a better angle. " I guess we could roll it." It was rather large for him, but this was what they partly came here for and Toberon was determined. He moved forward hesitantly and put a paw on it.
