The royal palace is large, but don't be intimidated. There are five levels of the palace. Let's break it down:
Ground Level: This is the level that most enter the palace on, through the main gates and into the great hall. The great hall is a very large and well decorated room that is used for dances, parties, and important royal announcements. Upon entering this room there is an archway to your right and left almost immediately. Each leading down a long hall full of rooms. These are known as the East Wing and the West Wing.
East Wing: Upon entering the great hall, it is through the archway on the right. There are several rooms down this hall, mostly for guests of the royal family. Each guest room fitted with a small fountains. The water that comes from them is warm, as its pumped up from underground springs.
West Wing: Upon entering the great hall, it is through the archway on the left. Several rooms line this smaller hall and each is meant for staff of the palace. Like with the guest rooms, each is fitted with a small fountain. However there is one special room in this hall that contains a larger hot spring, intended for relaxing during off-time.
From the great hall then you can walk up a flight of stairs and find yourself on the first level. This level contains the main study in which the queen or queen may work, a small library, and various other study-like rooms/quiet rooms for work, school, practice, and so on.
There is a small staircase in the library on the first level. This is the only way to get to the third level, which is where the slumber rooms of the royal family may be found, and two additional rooms, just in case.
That takes care of three levels. The other two levels are the basement level one and basement level two.
Basement Level One: There is a small staircase of stone that can be found at the end of the East Wing. This leads down to the first basement level - the only basement level in which non-royals may go. It contains a much larger library / book collection that the first level and it has a large room for mini-games/goofing off and another room for studying. It is often rumored as the most quiet place to be in all of the archipelago, though this is not true.
Basement Level Two: It is unclear how one gets to basement level two, but it is through a bookcase that leans against a small opening in the wall in Basement Level One. Only specified royal security guards and the queen, king, or next-in-line may ever go down the basement level two. What exactly remains down there has never been revealed, and remains a subject of speculation for most commoners.
It is important to note a few things.
