SANDFORD GULLY
GULLYMOND CLAN
☼ ABOUT ☼
Gullymond is a clan that settled in Sandford Gully. A Vast, forested pass with rolling hills bordered by mountainous pastures and tall ridges. Fog is a common sight in the lowlands. But Gullymond is located in the highlands where many dried rivers formed gullies; the former river banks are decorated with reddish-pink iron ore. The nearby rivers are soiled with mud, but drinkable, however one must travel further upstream to get clean water or visit the dangerous valley below where many mysteries await...
☽ All important matters are decided by the clan ring even with the absence of the Chief.
☾ Every abled clan member helps building the clan.
☽ Female felines stay with their families until married, while males after their initiation into the clan sleep in the Bachelor's hall.
☾ Adultery is prohibited, as well are other acts of such nature.
☽ If a murder has been committed, one must pay catgild of 10 goats for a cottar, 20 for a thane or carl. If the gild has not been payed one must suffer the consequences.
☾ Each time one does harm to another (their property, land or well-being) the crime-committed must compensate with catgild.
☽ If the crime committed is severe enough you will be considered an outlaw: unworthy of our law's protection.
☾ Death is reserved for other low-life like crimes like incest, treason crimes against sex and religion...
☽ Arranged combat for honour to settle feuds or other matters, even to death are lawful and no legal acts are made if one dies.
☾ Thralls are considered property. If a thrall commits a crime, his owner will be punished accordingly.
☽ The children of Thralls are free-felines, upon growing up they either join the household of their carl or the bachelor's hall.
☾ What race, species, all of you are GULLYMONDIANS, that is all that matters, hate the outsiders, they are clearly more different that us!
☼ THE TRIBE ☼
The clan was built in the gold-grassy monotonous pastures of Sandford. The inner perimeters are trampled, small fencing made to keep the animals in. The living places consist of huts out of clay and mud, covered in hay roof. The houses of Thanes and Cottars are more luxurious. Other buildings in the clan is the central Bachelor's hall and the clan ring hall. Outside of the hall is an old oak with 8 stone seats. Someday when shrines and temples will be erect in the name so of our gods, we might afford huts for god-talkers.☼ CLAN RULES ☼

☼THE CLAN☼
CLAN RING (undecided yet!)
The clan ring consists of wise nobles, they are cycled through per need of the clan or when one passes away. The members are young or old, but they tend to be skilled in different things as needed. The one best skilled in leadership is the Chief of the whole clan.
THE THANES
Thanes are the nobles of the clan. They own land that they give to Cottars. They also own Thralls which work their own fields. Some Thanes are hired as soldiers and guards to patrol the outside perimeters of our clan, they receive a wealthy pay at the end of each year.
THE FARMERS
Carls are wealthier farmers who farm sheep or goats while Cottars farm various kinds of fowl. Carls are often in conflict with the Thanes. Cottars tend to be given some land by the Carls or more commonly by the Thanes.
THE BACHELORS
Bachelors are young unmarried members of the clan. They serve warrior duty alongsidetheir usual work until married.
THE THRALLS
Thralls are the slaves of the clan. Thralls are owned by Thanes and Carls. The children of Thralls are free felines. Despite belonging to a single family, like the whole of animals in possession they belong to the clan as a whole and can be sacrificed for great favours to gods.

GULLYMOND CLAN
☾ TRIBAL LIFE ☾
A quick sum of how we live: We build houses for each family. All the pairs here are legally married. (They can divorce) The children do not have to work until they reach adolescence, the females then stay with their families or get married to a new household, while the males move to the bachelor's hall. There they will serve as warriors until their ripe age of marriage. All felines that are able will have a job/profession. For Cottars and Carls it is farmer hunter, crafter and so on. We prefer that the amount of farmers is at least twice of every other profession during planting and harvesting season. We may one day own Spirit-talkers and God-talkers when the clan grows and gets its first shrines and temples.
The clan ring consists of 4-8 nobles, each excelling in different skills and trades, so they complete each other and can give different opinions on a single matter.
Carls own a bigger plot of land, they tend to sheep and goats, while Cottars own fowl and waterfowl. Both work on fields to produce food for the animals. Hunters fish and hunt in the nearby forests, but we mustn't have many or else we strain the local wildlife. Hunters teach their children to be hunters. Cottars tend to be more commonly hunters and farmers, while Carls tend to have a few crafter in their household.
Things to craft are obviously ivory/bone products, tools, pots and talismans. Wood and stone must also be readied when shrines and temples are built.
Thanes are nobles, they can do either of the professions presented, but they tend to own the land, which is in turn given to the Cottars or in rare cases Carls. Some Thanes double as elite warriors. Warrior thanes get paid each year for their services and are recruited from Carls or Thanes. They tend to be the ones that give land to Cottars and Thralls to work on.
Some outsiders recruited can either join as Thralls or Cottars. Having them join as Carls can sometiles lead to disputes within the clan. The clan has its own land that it can give to new Cottars or Carls. While Thralls may be adopted by pre-existin Thanes or Carls. The clan ring decides if they get accepted as Thralls or Cottars/Carls.
Children born to Thralls are free felines once they mature. Then they either join the bachelors or the Carl/Cottar/Thane's household untill married away.
Marriage more often than not is a rather political thing and the whole clan ring can have a word on it if its that important of a thing. Family feuds tend to be a common thing if catgild has not been paid.
Sheep and goats are a sigh of wealth. They are also sacrificed to the gods all so often and the main source of food for the clan.

We celebrate each:
☾ Solstice and equinox! Big bonfires usually!
☾ Marriage, nothing more than a feast.
☾ We celebrate occasionally to special gods, sacrifices, feasts!
☾ Feasts are to be made in honour to other 'groups' and new alliances or after a victory in battle.
☾ Each time we sacrifice to gods we celebrate in a more subtle way.
