Aetheros
“ In the midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside of you. „
Nemcrois, being curious as to his mother’s origins, eventually learned a number of things concerning her and the pride she was supposed to lead. Aetheros was once ruled by the Creed family, their reign ending when their sole heir eloped with a male named Narcosis. Due to the King’s stubbornness, he refused to choose another heir and for the remainder of his life kept the throne to himself. Of course, this didn’t sit well with almost half of the members. Since they did not want conflict with their liege, they ultimately left to start their own pride. Those that remained loyal and respected their King’s wishes did not remain for long. The King fell ill and died within a year, promptly disbanding the group.
Now, Nemcrois seeks to resurrect the pride. Making it a place where Nithe can come and feel at home, be welcomed. The name "Aetheros" was chosen long ago as an homage to the original world of the Nithe, and it is not something that will ever change.
Activity is probably the first thing you would see in the out of character laws. I realize people have lives outside of this forum, which is perfectly fine, all I ask is that you make an effort. If the thread is important, I will tag you and hope to see you in it.
I’m not going to set a character limit, I'm sure you are all aware of your own limits.
I expect each and every one of you to respect each other and the forum rules. Must I say more?
I realize we have a lot of magic users these days, and I welcome it, but be aware of your character’s limitations. There shouldn’t be any god-modding, power-playing, or auto-hitting either.
While Aetheros is primarily made for Nitherium, other felines and some canines will be accepted.
Please do not mix Out Of Character comments/thoughts in with In Character.
I’m going to try and do something new- at least I think it is new. Instead of simply applying the character, there will be a couple of pre-requisites. Your character must have first interacted with Nemcrois in some way, likely resulting in your character's recruitment. Depending on your character's species, there will likely be a test, which is described in the IC Decree. Just be aware that I won’t accept applications without the character in question first interacting with Nemcrois.
Last, but certainly not least, is that I hope all of you have fun!
Since this pride is primarily made for Nithe, they will be accepted without question. However, any other creature seeking to join our ranks will be put through a test. It will test the creature’s mental and physical capabilities, as well as determine if the creature has an aptitude for magic. The test is not too strict, it merely determines what you will be good at.. and how we came make you better.
The sovereign’s word is final and should not be questioned. Even with our group that revels in the chaos, there must be some form of order. Their word is law and should be respected as such. Officer’s word is second only to the sovereigns, and should be respected just as much.
Sparring is heavily encouraged, but injuries breaking the skin should never result from these. Intent to kill another member is unacceptable and is punishable by banishment. Should an argument occur and is close to coming to blows, the sovereign will set up a sparring match for any involved in said argument. Whoever wins the match will be deemed correct and the loser must accept this. Such a spar must be witnessed by the sovereign and two other members, no matter the rank.
The sovereign may be challenged, though if the challenger does not set rules beforehand then it is assumed that anything goes. This includes, but is not limited to, calling in other members to fight for- or with- you. However, the sovereign is not obliged to follow the rules set by said challenger. In truth, it is a courtesy to the challenger for a “chance” to a “fair fight”.
Only the sovereign will decide which wars shall be waged. Should a member go off on their own and attack another, do not expect Aetheros to be at your side. An unsanctioned attack is considered treason, and punishable by banishment or death, depending on the severity.
During any time of war, a medic’s orders may overwrite a sovereign’s, only in cases where the injured are involved. For instance, if the sovereign commands all of his fighters- including the injured- to attack, a medic can refuse and take away the injured. In this regard, the sovereign- or anyone else- can not argue a medic’s judgement.
Cavorting with the enemy is treason, punishment would be determined by the extent of the relationship. Meanwhile, the member who had committed this treason would remain imprisoned and questioned until the sovereign concludes a suitable punishment.
Any creature with a mate outside of the pride, so long as it is not the enemy, is expected to encourage them to join Aetheros and any offspring conceived from this relationship should either be brought up in the pride, or be raised as an ally.
Any cub, without an apparent guardian, in Aetheros’s territory may be chased off, killed, used for sport or experiments, or adopted. This is solely dependent on the creature that finds said cub.
There will always be an apprenticeship system in place. No matter the creature's rank, one must take on at least one apprentice at a time to train. This is to pass on a specific magical ability and techniques that go with it. There are of course group trainings which consist of the basics.
