So, I thought this needed to be addressed and I'm bringing it up now so we can have a friendly debate. Just a some things I noticed over the span of a few months.
First, I'd like to talk about timelines with our role-plays. I think perhaps we need to be a little more informed as to what is going on in other threads that could potentially conflict with any other threads in the same board- regardless of whether the rp is minor or major. Simply because a thread is posted after another one doesn't mean it has to take place after it. For example: I created the threads Totally Not Snooping on Oct 9th, Lets Talk on Oct 12th, and then Family Doesn't Break on Oct 17th- all of which include my character Curse. Now, her encounter with Emerson (Totally Not Snooping) comes first, however on her way back home to Stygian she comes into contact with Elliot (Family Doesn't Break) and finally comes back to talk with Yasha (Lets Talk). Also, I think it should be said that its' not a race to see which thread finishes first, in effect creating it "the right" to come before any of the other threads- thats just not how it works imo. The Lets Talk thread is closer to being done than Totally Not Snooping, but it still happens last in the timeline for Curse.
On another note, I think there should be a general basis as to when and how a pride essentially becomes known by others around them. That, I think, is when rumors could start popping up about them and they start interacting with other prides more often. But before they do anything significant to essentially spread their name or what have you, I personally can't see how other prides would know about them. It is completely different if it is one character coming across them by accident- hey, maybe they even join them or its just a random encounter for your character to gain some experience. Beyond that, it's just a bit hard for me to believe.
I don't particularly think it should be a given that every pride- regardless of status(being newer or older)- should know about each other, either. Although, it would make sense in a few cases- like Meurtrier- that everyone would know about them. I think by now they have pretty much become a legend, along with a few others like Jaaku Clan and Blitzkrieg- they've been a constant as far as I can remember from oIT.
Another thing is communication, somewhat going back to the topic of timelines and a bit about plot discussion. Communication plays a big part in creating thrilling plotlines, and if something isn't discussed thoroughly it could lead to misunderstandings, etc. Plus, it may be a good idea to discuss plots ahead of time, giving room for edits before just jumping right into it. Also, if you guys just talk about what threads happen when, then there would be much less confusion- its easier than one might think to find a solution.
Anyone have anything to add/say about what I have stated above? Your personal opinions would be much appreciated~
