Daemon Donovan, Arc ' Apocalypse' Crimson- Donovan, Memoria Whittaker- Donovan, Catacomb Donovan- PetrenkoIt was early. Too early, almost. Probably because of whatever mysterious force wiped most of her memories, but told her to go home. And then she met that cold, confusing male that somehow won her over -- And here she is, in the nursery. But lucky enough for her and them that there were no complications. Three cubs, two males and a female. Daemon and Arc, ever the supportive Uncle and cousin respectively, sat closeby outside the den in the chilly morning light, breath from their quiet speaking puffing out like clouds in the open air. They were excited, that's for sure. These were Arc's first tiny little relatives born since he'd come home to the Kingdom, nothing but pure coincidence that they'd returned to Meurt at the same time, but happy enough that they did, even if they were nothing but strangers at first. He'd help her raise them, since the father was still missing and anonymous. For the King, as Memoria and these cubs were his nieces and nephews, this was a special time in particular, just as it was when Carnal and Kazbek were first introducing their cubs to the outside world. He would always be there for them, just as the rest of his pride, just as he would if-when Arc sired his own cubs. Not to mention with their birth, it was reaffirming the fact that even though Kimiko Crimson was still at large, their try at defeating her had failed, she hadn't beaten them either. Not by a longshot. They were strong, they were growing by the day. They would not be defeated. Not by the likes of her. Cubs always brought the promise of success, of a fresh start, and these were no different. "Memo, dear. How are you? Shall I fetch Iarri and Nerry now?" Arc called. Daemon stood, standing up and giving a lazy stretch. He'd been up for awhile, awoken early by the sound of the female screaming. He was exhausted. They both were, but he wasn't going to turn in. He couldn't. Where was Orpheus, hm? Surely he was closeby too, to be here and meet them, but with how groggy he was, it was hard to tell. There was a heavy sound from inside, a tired sigh. "Y-Yes, please. You...You can come in, if you want. They're eating now, but I want to make sure..." Iodine too was within, so was Fragment, but they were both still asleep curled around their own cubs. Once they woke up, they'd be able to offer the new mother some help as well. But for now, she needed a professional touch. Unless, of course, either healer was already in there and she was just so agonized, she wasn't paying any attention.
Blair, LAD, drifter, kahara i'm not sure how you guys usually have nerry & iarri do this cubstuff, but they can be there if'n ya want of course - u - ))

Changed the name to Damir. Pronounced Duh-meer
Damir & Orpheus
Small, tiny, wriggling for a space for milk. Damir knew nothing else but the scent of his mother and the alluring scent of milk.
Orpheus was no where near. He heard the sounds of a female in labor in the dens, but upon Daemon moving to view them, he did not. Instead, he left the dens, took a few others with him that were up and about - clearly annoyed by the racket the female was making (males of course) - and left the scene. In his mind, there was no reason to crowd a new mother. She'd show her young when she wanted to and wanted others around. Orpheus simply knew now that he was awake, he'd have no luck trying to go back to sleep.

Namaste The little bundle of fur crawled toward its mother seeking milk. Finding a comfortable place easily enough- not having to fight for it- Namaste started to drink. This was his world, the scent and warmth from his mother and siblings, and the always appetizing milk.
Meanwhile, Catalyst remains far from Meurtrier lands, wondering about the time he spent with a female long ago. He has suspicions, but he wasn't too inclined to act on them just yet- he would have to find out where she went first.

Daemon Donovan, Arc ' Apocalypse' Crimson- Donovan, Memoria Whittaker- Donovan, Catacomb Donovan- PetrenkoThe two males, once they'd been given the okay to enter, just about tripped over eachother trying to be the first to see them. Dae hadn't noticed Orph stalking away with his troop. Now, Arc knew he said he'd go get the healers, but he had to at least have a quick peek at them before he left. And who knows, maybe they were already in there and beat him to it? And here they were, both perched anxiously near her nesting area, looking over the suddenly-thinned horizon of her belly, to where the three tiny bundles were tucked safe at her side. "Well well well." The King laughed, and Arc gave him a nudge, a bold move, but something that was welcomed, a wide grin slapped on his black muzzle. "Good job. Healthy little mites, it looks like." Purring quietly, nudging and licking at her young, murmuring gentle nothings to soothe them, she looked up to her uncle and cousin, giving an exhausted smile. "Thank you. There's two boys and a girl." She nosed each of them in turn, giving introductions. "But, um." She started, and Apoca cocked a brow. "What is it?" "Well, I'm sure their father will want to meet them." The new mother explained, and the males looked to eachother. "If he shows up, and he has no ill-intent, then he'll be allowed to see them, right?" And with that, she nodded. She could trust Catalyst with their children...Right? "I'll let you know when the time comes." Memo agreed, still going to make full use of this whole parental-confidentiality thing for awhile yet, it looked like.

(How did I miss this? Wow.. Well, since it seems the birth went okay and everyone's healthy you can just say Iarri stopped by if someone fetched her and she gave Memo something to ease any pain. Other than that I don't think I have anything to add unless you need Iarri. ^.^ )

Daemon Donovan, Arc ' Apocalypse' Crimson- Donovan, Memoria Whittaker- Donovan, Catacomb Donovan- PetrenkoA few weeks later, all three of Mem's children were growing up strong and healthy, walking and talking and trying to interact with some of the other cubs still unfortunately stuck in the nursery, Blanca and Poly (when he happened to be out and abut) being their usual victims when it came to her daughter Catacomb. She thought they were great fun, though with Poly being so much bigger and older, he thought she was annoying, and so Fragment's daughter was usually the one to spend time with her to give Memo a break from time to time. Arc was almost always the one to bring them breakfast, lunch or dinner, since the other provider was King. But if he happened to miss a meal or he was the busy one , it was their favorite 'Unca' Daemon' who took time out of his normally hectic schedule instead, as was the case today since things were relatively calm, the huge black male carrying a nice plump boar with tusks to match his own. "Here you go, Memoria dear. Cubs." He greeted with a friendly chuff, laying down instinctively and awaiting the inevitable -- "Daaaaeeee!!" Catacomb shrieked, all at once short attention span snatched from Blanca to the King, scrambling over to bowl into his chest with a loud, happy squeal, fur as pitch black as his own to label herself as one of KIller and Morpheus' descendants. "Hello, my little one. How are you today?" He purred with an unusually loud, gleeful laugh. "We're doing fine, Uncle. Thank you." Memo answered for her, going over to bump heads with him. "Arc isn't with you today?" She mused, and he shook his head, completely blissfully ignorant to little Catacomb starting to tug incessantly at his chest fur and ears, demanding his attention before she was called away to eat by Mother, only just now slowly starting to try and wean them. "No. Not right now, anyways. I think he plans to come by later. Last I knew he was out on a patrol with Emerson." He explained, letting down some of those royal walls he had no choice but to put up around most, if not all of his subjects, legs splayed out to the side and paws crossed with his lounging. "And Orpheus?" She pressed casually. "Mm. I doubt it. He isn't as into the whole children idea as I am." He pointed out, and she smirked, rolling her eyes.

Namaste The young male mostly kept to himself, due to a lack of interest- though his sister seemed to enjoy terrorizing the other cubs. In a way, it had been amusing to watch, but he would soon tire of that as well. He often wondered why he didn't have a father- only Uncles it seemed. More often then not, Namaste would drift off into his own little world, it was certainly more peaceful there.
Just like today, he was daydreaming when Catacomb's shrieking brought him back. He swiveled around to find Uncle Daemon carrying in a boar, instinctively turning up his nose at the meat. He wasn't hungry and the smell only seemed to make him feel squeamish. And why should it not? The boar is dead and so he associated the smell with death itself- quite terrifying to the young cub if he thought about it for too long. However, he would get over it eventually, Mother was starting to feed them milk less and less each day.
He was more distracted by Daemon's tusks- it was such an oddity to him. He pondered why he didn't have tusks, or even Catacomb or Damir or their mother. Though, when Namaste finally started listening to the grown-ups talking, he wondered who Emerson and Orpheus were. Many creatures passed through the den, that is true, but Namaste had only memorized Arc and Daemon simply because they came so much. "Who's Emerson?" He piped up, "And Orpheus?" It was entirely possible that the cub had met either of the two before, but just couldn't recall.
As he waited for a reply, he inspected the boar- poking and sniffing it. He started to nibble on it, and at first didn't see what was so great about meat. However, he then took a larger bite and the juices filled his mouth. It didn't take so long for him to get over the smell after all.

Damir
He glanced upwards at the the resounding usual chuff. Dae. He was a usual presence, but it was one that Damir found himself incapable of getting used to. He barely got used to any of the other cubs unless they were among his siblings. It was quite odd for one of his age, but it was what it was. Seeing the new arrival now had him opening his golden eyes wide, teal flecks glimmering as the light shined off of them. That was a large piece of prey. And when his brother was up and about, Damir slowly stood, carefully stepping over his mother's paw to get closer. His nose scrunched at the smell and he immediately pulled back, sitting down on his romp - his back legs straight on either side of his front legs. That was another issue of his - he'd yet to be able to properly sit with his large paws, proving he'd grow to be quite big someday.
Instead, he watched Namaste ask two questions and then attempt the food first and blinked as his brother actually seemed to enjoy it. His nose scrunched again before he stood up and moved forward, "Good?" He questioned - his vocabulary much smaller than his brother or sister currently.

Daemon Donovan, Arc ' Apocalypse' Crimson- Donovan, Memoria Whittaker- Donovan, Catacomb Donovan- PetrenkoThe mother and King watched on with an amused glint in their dual-green eyes as each cub inspected the bloody offering almost one after another, and then surprising enough, Namaste was finally the one brave enough to take the first bite. They were immensely relieved to see him starting to tear into it so vigorously instead of shunning it like every other time before. The sooner you start them on a good, strong diet the better. That's what warriors were made of. Though the other two mites still weren't quite so convinced it seemed. Oh well, all in good time. Hopefully their curiosity would get the better of them before long, the little girl leaving Daemo's paws to go see what her brothers were going on about.
"Orpheus is my brother, another one of your uncles and your other King." He explained to the boy, not at all deterred by the fact that the tiniest cub, Damir wasn't so keen to get to know him yet. He wouldn't pressure it or rush him. "And Emerson is a good friend of mine, long before you were born. He is a wise male and will probably help with your training when the time comes." But of course there'd be enough time for that later, it was far too soon to be thinking about putting them through any kind of real physical exercise other than their usual cub-play and roughhousing.
Catacomb settled in beside her littermates, tipping her head, the thick of her tail twitching back and forth. "...Weird. This is why Mama doesn't wanna feed us so much anymore? Yeah, right!" She asked to no one in particular, not really liking the idea of growing up, but since Memo wasn't giving them much of a choice, if she was to get her belly to shut up these days she had no choice but to give it a shot, giving a shrug and inching closer, pawing at a strip of loose meat for a moment or two before taking it between her teeth to taste -- And then, as it always does, instinct kicked in, and she was digging in as well, making happy little smacking noises, determined to wolf down as much as she could. Oookay, so maybe she was totally wrong about this whole meat thing! "Oh, so you like it now do you, hm? I hoped you would." Their dame purred, not at all dwelling on the thought of their father. He actually hadn't been on her mind for awhile now, not since the kids were becoming more verbal and mobile, though no doubt word had gotten out from the Kingdom to him about their arrival by now and he'd show his mug around again..And then, then she'd have no choice. Who knows, you could never expect anything when you were a Donovan.

Namaste
An ear flicked at his brother's voice. He turned to look at Damir, still chewing the same piece of meat in his mouth. It was super juicy at first, but now it just seemed tough. He couldn't say it was perfect, but it was an acquired taste. He shrugged finally, "Yeah, but it gets chewy." Namaste stated simply, thinking the milk from mother went down so much easier.
He turned back and tore a small piece from the boar and padded over to Damir, placing it in front of him. His ears perked forward and eyes encouraging. Namaste thought his brother was interested, so he tore off a piece himself and brought it his brother. He heard Daemon speak then, of his brother and the other fellow. Namaste wondered why there were two Kings; or why they needed to train and what it was they would be trying for. Instead of asking Daemon himself, he just let the questions twirl around in his mind.
His sister's voice erupted, causing Namaste to look back at her. It seemed she was going over the food now, too. He was a bit amazed by his sister's voracity- who knew she could take to it so well. Well, he wasn't going to force the issue with his brother- if he wanted the piece he would take it and if not, Namaste would take it back.
Catalyst had investigated tirelessly, finding out that Memoria is a Donovan led him to believe she went to Meurtrier. It was the most logical place to look for one. He was certain he had left her with cubs now. He was curious, for several reasons. He wasn't sure what it was like to be a father, he wanted to know what they looked like, what their names were, and so on. And if he was getting his hopes up? Well, he would cross that bridge when it came to him.
He had been around the Shadow Veldt before, so he came to its borders easily enough. He eyed the land, before eventually chuffing to call out whatever Meurtrians may be on patrol or lurking nearby. Well, first order of business was to figure out if Memoria did indeed "come home" as Catalyst expected. If so, he had no intention of joining the pride just to be near his cubs.
It's always war with Meutrier. He thought bitterly, If she did have cubs and they're mine.. Well, he wasn't going to let them grow up in a pride at war- or soon to be at war. He knew the pride had a rich history, Catalyst had even been close to joining its ranks many years ago when his parent's pride fell apart.
kinda failed but.. figured this would be the perfect time Memo and Catalyst could chat. Or something.
