He stumbled into faith and thought, "God, is this all there is?" Then, the pictures in his mind arose, and began to breathe.. And all the gods and all the worlds began colliding on a backdrop of blue..

Severus 'Shika' Sherlock Alkaev & Evangeline Caliver

The boy had been.. dreaming of demons; the cackle of his brother, Remus's laugh. He shuddered, he was sound asleep but his eyes awakened slightly, it was dawn. The male narrowed his eyes and sighed, raising a brow as he stretched. He just stayed in the ring of the dens, he didn't want to get his ass kicked again. Hell no! He simply sat down and looked down on his reflection.

Evangeline had been spending her time around a sakura tree that she found on the border, her hideout. There was a little den beside it where the girl would find her own place away from disapproving eyes where a girl could be herself.


Blue lips, blue veins, blue the color of our planet from far, far away...

BALTHIER II, KEJETHAN-DARAH

[/i] He asked, just to make sure. Sometimes those demonics all looked the same to him.

Nearer the border was Balthier II. He'd returned from another outing. This one had been longer than the others. It had also been farther away. Balthier II needed to rest, so once he was within Shadow Veldt, he plopped down with a big huff and rolled onto his side, all stretched out.[/ul][/blockquote]

Eva noticed her 'uncle' and smirked, creeping up on him before leaping in an attempt to land on Balthier II's back. "Gotcha!"

Severus rose his gaze to the male and nodded. "Yep. The name is Severus, call me Shika if you want." he said, shrugging before rising to his paws. "You must be Kejethan-Dharah. Son of Jasper Crimson and Darknight." he said, bowing.

BALTHIER II, KEJETHAN-DARAH

[/i] Balthier II let out a surprise yell, and turned over in surprise at Eva, but he was smiling, indicating he probably heard her approach. "Watch it kiddo, I'm ticklish, haven't ya heard?!" Which was true. He was actually incredibly ticklish.

Kejethan seemed a bit baffled and annoyed at the knowledge this kid had. How'd he know his mother's name? Kejethan rarely talked about her.. ever. "Uhh, yeah. Hi. Why Shika as a nick name? Doesn't sound short of Severus." He began to sound Severus out really slowly in his head, hoping that, somehow, he'd get Shika of it.[/ul][/blockquote]

The male shrugged. "Dunno. Just came up with it, I guess. Why'd you ask?" he said, rolling his shoulders before sitting down. "If I may ask, what's it like to be a warrior of Meurtrier?" he said, tilting his head.

Evangeline

She laughed and she tickled him, giggling. "Balth! I didn't know you were ticklish! I should've done this ages ago!" she grinned, before hugging her half uncle.

KEJETHAN-DARAH & BALTHIER II

[/i] Kejethan tilted his head and stared at Severus.

Balthier II laughed and hugged Eva back. "Dang! Shouldn't have told you that, now you'll never leave me in peace, huh?" He slowly rolled onto his side and place Eva on the ground beside him. "What're you doing all the way out here anyway?" He asked, realizing she was as close to the border as he was. She wasn't thinking of running away, was she..? If so, he'd talk her out of it![/ul][/blockquote]

Eva's eyes lowered to her paws. "I.. I wanted to spend time by myself. I wanted to go and find Atryn.. but something's holding me back, uncle.." she said, cuddling him. "I just feel the urge to do something but the least I can do is make everyone feel better but I don't know how. I also feel like cheering my family up. Caine, Nerante.. hell, even my half siblings if I have to." she said, putting her head on her paws.

Severus shrugged. "I'm interested in both groups equally, sir. I'm more likely to become an assassin as I get older, but we'll see how that develops. Life just.. sucks right now. Drama in every corner of this Veldt. In my opinion, this place is a hole but I have to stay here for Jaaku. They need all of us to work together to fight off such unworthy rebellions. Take La Morte, for example. I want to help father into spying onto their territory. But.. let's just see how life takes it's toll." he said before laying down.

BALTHIER II, KEJETHAN

[/i] And then, in that moment, a realization. Balthier II had spent a lot of time away from his family, running from the pain of loss. Perhaps he should practice what he preached.

Kejethan clearly seemed disappointed.. and perhaps a bit amused, and did little to hide the fact. He crossed his paws and leaned in toward where Severus was seated. "Being an assassin isn't an easy task." It would require a lot of hard work, but it seemed Severus was rather intelligent, and already at such a young age. "Hm. Aren't you still a bit young to be wanting to do all of that, though?"[/ul][/blockquote]
