CAYLIS
Cay had been examining the fire crystals in the Grotto curiously, her azure optics twinkling in the fiery light as she started to croon a little tune. "This time that we waste, but I still love your taste. Don't let him take my place, don't just sit there. Sometimes I wish you would leave me.. i'm not sick of you yet, is that as good as it gets? I'll just hide it or I could slip into you.. it's so easy to come back into you.." she sang before stopping, chuckling and rolling onto her back, looking up at the cieling with boredom. Picking a red crystal from the sides with her tail, she started playing with it.

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassius was up to his usual thing: walking around the territory for no particularly good reason. On his way around, his walk led him through the hot springs and past the Flame Grotto. His head was down and his tail gave the occasional nonchalant flick. He felt the heat of the grotto lap at his pelt as he passed. That was one place he never usually went in, but this time he happened to hear a voice coming from inside. It was the familiar voice of Caylis, and with a long sigh, Cassius took a step back and turned his head to see if it she was really in there. Was she seeking help from a healer? Was it because..? "Ah no.. Come on.." His pelt now flushed with heat for a different reason, and he rolled his eyes as he entered. It was difficult to spot the female with her black pelt and red mane among the shadows and scarlet glow of the cave. He narrowed his eyes, seeking Caylis's blue irises among the darkness. He cocked a brow at her display and huffed. "Hmph. And.. who are you talking to?" He looked around the cave, but oddly enough, they seemed to be the only ones in there.

Caylis pricked her ears and turned her head. "Oh, me? Just talking to myself, I guess. Nothing too special." she said simply with a shrug. "What about you? What're you doing here?~" she said with her head tilted to the side. She started throwing the crystal into the lava.. and apparently a mini-explosion came from the lava, which startled her, she snickered, brushing the back of her head. "Sorry about that.. heh."

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassius's narrowed eyes looked at her with slight suspicion. She was acting.. giddy, girlish. More than usual. He approached with slight hesitation, looking around once more and then back at the entrance. "Ah, well. Okay then.." He shrugged at her apology, but stepped back to avoid being touched by the spray of lava. His fur prickled slightly. It was sooty enough in there. His paws felt filthy.. and perhaps that was why he never came in the grotto. He shook off his pelt before speaking again. "I was walking by.. and heard you. I thought perhaps you were speaking with someone. A healer, whoever else. I don't know, I suppose." He lifted up a paw and looked at it as he felt at the grit between his toes before flicking away the ash. "Just you talking to yourself, turns out."

Caylis noticed his eyes narrow, oh boy.. up to his thoughts again. "Yep, then again; I usually am these days, a bad habit, I suppose." she said simply, shooing away the ashes from her paws. "I talked with Kodiac actually. He said it was alright if I saw the children but.. he just doesn't trust me with them. Ngh. Ah well, better than nothing.~"

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassius nodded absentmindedly as he listened to Caylis. "I see. Well, sometimes yourself is the best company." He muttered, letting out a sigh. He used his paw to brush away some grim on the stones so he could sit down. He quirked an eyebrow briefly at the mention of her and Kodiac. "Oh? Sounds to me like you see them anyway. Hmph. I suppose so. But why wouldn't he be able to trust you?" His mind wandered back to Caylis's first leaving. Perhaps that was the reasoning, but maybe there were other things he should be looking out for as well. He glanced over at the female before looking towards the entrance.

"Ahh. Back with my first leave, before I.." she trailed off before nodding. "Let's just say he said he was stronger than I would ever be; and he hasn't trusted me ever since, I don't think he'll ever trust me again, to be honest. Neither do I care, and I don't blame him; he can say what he likes." he said with a sigh before nodding, looking into the lava's slowly moving waves lapping up on the banks of the Grotto. "Well.. at least that's a start." she said.
Looking over to the cluster of firey crystals that glowed in the scarlet cave, she used a paw to grab one and held it out to him. "Keep it, a token of thanks." she said calmly, raising a brow. "But, it's up to you if you don't want it or anything."

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassius flicked an ear as she mentioned her leave from Meurtrier. He let out a long sigh. "If it's enough to get to you like that, I think you care. Yes he can, but so can you. Don't let that stop you from talking to those poor kids of yours." Ah, the problems of partnership. Cassius was glad he didn't have to deal with those. Yet, of course, but he didn't want to think about that. He cringed slightly. Cassius stared at her gift gift. He examined it for a moment, and then looked up at her. "Erm, thanks for what, exactly?" He took it hesitantly and rolled it around in his paw. What would he do with such a thing? He set it down and furrowed his eyebrows.

Caylis shrugged. "Guess you're right, I guess. Why is it that you're always right?" she said with a chuckle before looking down to the red crystal. "For helping me, cheering me up when I needed it, taking me back to Meurtrier. You deserve it after all, you just don't get enough positive attention; shame indeed. Why? I'll never know. But you have my support.. which I don't have for most Meurtrierians." she said, letting out a sigh.

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassius gave a fake modest shrug as Caylis spoke again. "Oh it's nothing. It's all nothing. Hmh. Always nice to be recognized. Seems someone understands." He rose a paw to his forehead dramatically. Upon seeing ash on it, however, he gave a snort of disgust and brushed it away. Seemed as if a bit of his younger self was showing, as he was now usually above such pretentious words and gestures. Old habits died hard, he supposed. "Funny of you to say. After all, I suppose you've contributed your fair share as well." Very hard.

Caylis chuckled at Cass's dramatic pose, she couldn't help but make her eyes light up with amusement. Cay tilted her head. "Me? No, I didn't do very much, honestly. What makes you think I'm important to Meurtrier, hmm?" she said, her eyes shown curiosity to what he thought.

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassuis had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. What Caylis ever saw in him, he would never know. But whatever, attention was attention. He rolled his head from side to side as he tried to think and come up with something to say. "Oh.. I don't know." he groaned, and he finally just had to shrug. "Is any one of us really that important? We're just pawns, you realize. Kings, queens.. The rest of us? Of limited import." His paws were now sticky with sweat. Why did Caylis have to hang out in such uncomfortable places? Surely she was fairing even worse with that black pelt of hers. He used the tip of his tail to flick mane from his face.

Caylis noticed that Cassius was sweating, she couldn't help but chuckle. "We could get out of the Grotto if you want. I was only going to stay here for a little bit," she couldn't help but raise her brows. He was onto something. "You.. have a point there, you know." she said, her voice calm.

[/style][/td] [td][atrb=width,500,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top][bg=3D0002] » CASSIUS Cassius stood up as soon as she mentioned leaving the Grotto. "Ugh, dear, I thought you'd never ask." Without waiting, he spun around and quickly padded out of the cave. Once outside, he let out a sigh of relief at the cool air and shook off his pelt. "Oh, I do know. Ask around, Calylis. Why are we fighting?" A grudge held by the higher ups? Whatever. Cassius would fight along side his birth pride anyway, he had little reason not to. Plus, it wasn't such a bad thing to be able to scratch someone else up once in a while. But still, most of it he found was irrelevant to him. Some times he just didn't feel like fighting for stuff that didn't specifically pertain to him. He considered both sides of the whole situation depending on his needs.

Caylis sighed. "That's what I'd like to know." she said, rolling her eyes. She couldn't help but chuckle at Cass's lament. "But then again, it's nice to kick ass once in a while, plus I have no reason to rebel against Meurtrier, you know what I mean?" she said, shrugging and standing beside him.
[Do you think we can make it open?]
