This is a constant work in progress.
It is, as of writing, mostly for my benefit.
Storing this stuff all in my head hasn't been my best idea!

• BIRTH
- The Underground Society is a relatively new concept when you look at it as a whole of the Ivalician history, having only come into existence around the same time The Mad Queen began her reign of terror.
- It began with The Mad Queen (Quilyr)'s second husband, Meher. After Quilyr had their only two daughters executed for suspected treason, done in secret, Meher took his only remaining children, his last two sons Tevintor and Uthec, into hiding beneath the main archipelago.
- Meher taught his boys that the Ivalician Empire was going to fall. That someone had bred impurity into the line, which was why Quilyr had gone mad and killed their sisters. This was wild speculation on Meher's part, but his sons believed him without doubt. Meher convinced them that they needed to convince others to go underground for safety.
- Uthec and Tevintor went back above ground and began to spread the word. The queen was mad and no one would be safe, and that impurity was to blame. At first there was disbelief. Uthec and Tevintor were scolded, sometimes even chased away for their claims.
- Uthec knew that no one would believe them until The Mad Queen showed her truly evil side to the public, for all she had done had so far happened within the Royal Castle, where she kept the royal guard to chase out strangers. Uthec could only think to use one thing to his advantage in such a situation. Quilyr rarely saw the light of day. She was hideously disfigured and lacked color.
- Uthec called a gathering and claimed the queen was mad and a witch. That an impurity in the land had caused her to go evil. He demanded the queen before the crowd to show herself, and to prove him wrong. Quilyr did hesitantly show, but also branded Uthec a traitor and demanded him executed.
- For some, this horrific show of the 'ugly, mad queen' was enough to convince them that what Uthec had said was true. For others, this was merely a young, confused lad being rude to their queen. Uthec was executed in the public eye on that day, with Tevintor to quietly stand witness. When the chaos died down, Tevintor lead the believers into the underground. And delivered the devastating news to Meher.
- Meher and Tevintor now had a small gathering of believers, eager to learn how they could undo the impure that had ruined their queen and their home.
- Meher began to tell them that the impure had to be killed. He said the cracks in the walls whispered to him, and the whispers told him that once the impure blood bathed the isles, then a wave would come to wash it away.
- Tevintor seemed uncertain at first. Something about his father seemed different from the last time he'd seen him. However he had already gone this far. With uncertainty pricking at his fur, he agreed word for word with Meher. And so it was Tevintor's agreement with Meher that had the small gathering also in agreement.

-- Summary: The Mad Queen's husband, Meher, was the one who founded the Underground Society. It was founded on the belief that impurity had become soaked into the isles and seeped into the bloodlines, causing Queen Quilyr to go mad; that it was her madness, and by extent impurity, that caused her to kill Meher's only two daughters Ery and Hyth. Tevintor and Uthec - Meher's sons - went with him underground, but later resurfaced to try and gather more pure Ivalicians into the underground for 'their own safety'. Uthec realized they wouldn't go underground without a cause, so he essentially sacrificed himself to show the bad in the Queen. However not all were convinced. Some Ivalicians followed Tevintor back underground while others remained in their homes and continued their lives as they were. Back underground, Meher spun a tale of the whispers in the cracks of the caves telling him that murdering the impure was the only way to cleanse the isles; that it was the will of their Creator.

As with ivalician empire history, this will be told in two ways. From my perspective, aka how it happened, and then how ivalicians tell it.
