This is a constant work in progress.
It is, as of writing, mostly for my benefit.
Storing this stuff all in my head hasn't been my best idea!

• War
- The early Ivalicians only recall war. There was never a time before war. They fought day and night against a beastly feline whose limbs could fall and they would still crawl to destroy the Ivalicians.
- This war raged on for years, maybe even centuries. No modern day Ivalician is 100% certain. They only know that, near the end, their kind had dwindled down from millions to hundreds.
- In the war there were Generals. Generals were strong bodied and willed Ivalicians of both sexes that commanded the soldiers. They also commanded the Wings. Wings were Ivalicians with wings, as the name suggests, and they acted as air support. They carried supplies to and from different posts and became vital as the war raged on in the later years. Unfortunately, the more essential they became, the less of them there were. By the time the Ivalicians made the cross to their new home, there were less than 1% of Ivalicians with wings.
- The war was often called the blight. The blight refers to the enemy as well as the war itself. An enemy was a blighter. They were rotten and could function with almost no limbs, even no blood; but a head and heart were necessary. Ivalicians are still uncertain what, or why, these creatures existed. As for why the war was called the blight; the majority of the land was controlled, in the end, by the enemy. The enemy could also infect healthy Ivalicians, causing horrific mutation, agonizing pain, and death. Sometimes an Ivalician would turn into such a horrifying mutant that it would turn on other Ivalicians and slay them.
- The 'near end of the war' is defined as the time in which there were less than ten Generals and they had reached no more than 1% of Wings. They were corned by the Blighters, with the ocean to their backs.
- General's Walyz Ordalithion and Avallon Mercer were the two that decided they needed to flee to the ocean; but hundreds of Ivalicians would drown if they tried to swim. So they prayed for an entire day, making pleas for a God to hear them out and save them. And a God did. One came forth, calling themselves the Creator, and gave a large ship to the Ivalicians. The Ivalicians climbed the ship and once all were on board, the Creator created a wave large enough to push them out to sea.
- The remaining Generals all die while on the ship. They leave in charge Abaskion Mercer and Valeri Ordalithion. Together, this couple prayed to their Creator and asked where they would go and what they would do. The Creator told them that once they were lost, they would be found. It made little sense at the time. As days passed they began to worry that they were destined to float across the ocean forever, lost in a fog. That is when the isles came into view.
- There are mixed claims of how the archipelago came into view. Some said it rose from the water. Others say it had been there all along. Regardless, this was to be their new home. Their ship docked on the archipelago, and within a year the Ivalicians had begun to create homes, shops, and recreate their families. There was no questioning that Abaskion and Valeri were to be their royals for guiding them through the oceans last stretch.

-- Summary: The War, or The Blight, happened many, many, many years ago and is thought to be the oldest known history of Ivalicians, with no known older Ivalician history documented. It was the war that caused the Ivalicians to find their true Creator, essentially becoming religious, and go to sea to find their new home; the archipelago. The Blight continued to exist on the mainland for years after, but soon died out. Few Ivalicians know of, or believe, that the blight has been gone for centuries; still fearful of becoming infected and their only home being taken over by Blighters and impurity.
• Religion & The Creator
- The Ivalicians have praised their Creator for hundreds of years, even before they arrived on the archipelago. Their god, known as the Creator, was said to have been the one to help guide ivalicians to the archipelago for their safety. They also say the Creator gave ivalicians their unnatural abilities (such as reading, writing, and crafting). Most (if not all) ivalicians who still live on the archipelago will follow faith in their Creator.
- As with most religions, whether or not their Creator be real, there were earlier days in which the Creator's name was abused. Abaskion Mercer (founding father) and Valeri Ordalithion-Mercer (founding mother) are the two most responsible for creating many of the common day praters for ivalicians to the Creator. 99% of ivalicians are unaware of this, but there is a small percentage of ivalicians who suspect that some of their ways and prayers did not come directly from the mouth of the Creator: which is true.
- Valeri worried that dirty ivalicians could bring the blight to their new home. So she told the first generation archipelago ivalicians that the Creator said to her; "There will be cleanliness among our kind, or we will face the Mainland Blight on our homelands, and be washed away by a flood to undo our own damage." This was, of course, not the actual word of the Creator. The Creator never did give word for prayers to the ivalicians. This prayer, among many more (which I will cover later), was one of first that Valeri declared a prayer for ivalicians to keep their home a peaceful place.
- So why did the other ivalicians believe Abaskion and Valeri? Well, the Creator did speak to them before. He had spoken on the mainland to Abaskion and Valeri, He told them the way and granted them the first raft to carry their kind to a safe haven. The others followed and were given the safe haven that Abaskion and Valeri said the Creator would give them. This gained the couple a great deal of trust and respect. Thus why no others questioned what it was Valeri or Abaskion said the Creator had said.
And, no, the Creator is not a set sex or gender. While commonly referred to as He or Him, the Creator can also be referred to as She, Her, They, Them. However referring to the Creator as an It is a great insult and any religious ivalician following the faith of the Creator will find the greatest offense. The Creator doesn't actually mind what He is called. This is another set of rules put in place by Valeri and Abaskion.
Why didn't the Creator speak out? Well the Creator doesn't want to control what the ivalicians do or think. If it is the wish of the ivalicians to believe without doubt the word of another, that is their decision to make. The Creator welcomes home all ivalicians once they have passed on.
