(Trigger warning spooky post, gore and Kimi's meaniness. Figured I'd post an informational rp post for the two when/after the disaster striked)
Everything had pretty much stayed the same the last weeks after the fateful day when everyone but Clive had abandoned the Mad Queen. Kimiko seemed to have spun further down her spiral and one could really start to question her sanity at this point. Her only remaining son had spent most of his time in the shadows, avoiding Kimiko as much as possible since she was prone to sudden outburst in anger- rambling on and on about how much she loathed the Donovans and the Crimsons alike, raking her claws down any immediat objects and roaring up at the skies where her grandfather had dissapeared with her youngest children.
But today would be different, a fateful change for both the few left in Edel and for most of Novis as the earth seemed to come alive and move around as it pleased alongside some side-effects. Kimiko had just fallen asleep, tossing and turning, when the first shakes sent a rush of adrenaline through her form. Her ruby reds narrowed while a suprisingly smug smile shaped, "and so it begins.." Kimiko mumbled as if she had predicted the event, which of course, she had not, but the mad queen had assumed something grand would happen to even out the balance in the universe, namely to ridden Novis of a few Donovans and Crimsons in the shape of a natural disaster- which she had been praying for to happen every now and then as the mean witch she was who couldn't stand the idea of Novis being over-populated by red and dark-pelted beasts.
Clive had been doing a feeble attempt to hunt down some food when the first fateful changes happened, and it didn't take long before he sought out his mother, despite their now so distant relationship, to seek comfort and advices on what to do next or what on earth the sudden changes could be.
"Child, it's happening. The world is punishing the Donovans and Crimsons, oh bless this day!" Kimiko chanted in joy as Clive joined her side. "Are you sure that's why this is happening?" Clive gazed up at his massive beast of a mother with a crooked brow and a confused frown.
"Don't be silly, my child, it is their fault. It's always their fault" Kimiko spat, "and this means.. it's time.. I must get my scheme rolling! Do not fear the changes, son. something grand is about to happen and I promise when it's all over- it'll be worth it" Kimiko stated.
"wha--what?" Clive had no idea of what Kimiko was rambling about, maybe she had lost her last marbles? But she was indeed talking of a scheme she had been brewing on, something that'd "save" them both from death itself one day and grant them a new 'life'. She just didn't expect the day to come so soon, but she took the earth's wrath (upon the Crimsons and the Donovans according to her) as a sign that the day had come and so she turned to the old nursery den where her latest younglings had lived up until the fateful day. A few minutes passed while Clive stood outside, confused with his head craned from side to side in hopes that he'd get a better view and a quick look at what she was doing inside without interrupting her cause god knew how pissed she could get if she was interrupted during something important- and this seemed to be something of grand importance to her so he kept a safe distance from the den's entrance just in case.
Kimiko eventually returned from the depth of her previously so precious den, adorned with remnants from fallen Donovans, holding a dark gemstone that occasionally gave out a little hiss every now and then. It was placed on the ground between the two and it didn't take long before it altered it's form and seemed to "melt". A dark mist oozed out from where it had been laying and enveloped the two felines, causing Clive to jump back in fear and dart over to his mother's side. "What's going on?" he whispered up to the mad witch, but she never replied and instead, kept her gaze planted on where the gem had vaporished with a smug smile on her lips. "Ma?" Clive urged when dark sparks started to appear around them and a portal seemed to open where the gem had been placed.
"Come.." Kimiko hummed as she started to walk straight towards where the portal was. "N-no, I don't want to" Clive stated, fear had taken over him now. "Yes! It is the only way!" Kimiko's head turned to him, ruby reds glared at him with the most firm and 'you must' expression the young adult had ever seen her put on. Clive took a step forward with much hesitation, but immediately froze when he noticed how her face seemed to "fade and rot" away. "Mother!?" Clive exclaimed when the first signs of her white skull caught his eyes.
"Don't be afraid, child, it won't hurt" Kimiko assured him, but clive whirled around to dash off before the gem devoured his flesh too. The mad witch had anticipated his "stubborness" and grabbed his tail with one swift movement before he could get far. "NO!!" Clive yowled in fear as he felt himself being pulled backwards to the portal's core, "LET ME GO!" the young adult screamed while he clawed the ground in a desperate attempt to get a hold of something he could use to withstand his mother, but the attempt was fruitless. Instead, he found himself dragged into the dark mist while his pelt and flesh gradually got peeled off his core structure. A quick look was casted over his shoulder just before the two had been completely enveloped by the new world they were about to enter, just in time to spot his mother's skeletons that continued to drag him by his tail while his own tissue vanished til he matched his mother and the two dissapeared into the darkness with one last scream from Clive...
All signs of the portal and the gem vanished not long after.
