Progenitor Demons These aren't your average demon. They are the first of their name, godless, parentless. The forms they may take are many, and they are the abominations of Hell. All life has a source, all creatures know a sire--where these creatures come from, none know. Perhaps as the universe may have collapsed into galaxies, these beings formed from energy.
Traits Elements - Almost all progenitors have an elemental ability; this is part of the reason they manifested. These elements may change as they grow, depending on from what they feed. Age - They are almost exclusively born as adults. They have some understanding of the way the world works, though no memory of existing before their creation. They are also immortal, often requiring centuries to fully harness their abilities. Size & Species - They are generally larger than whatever species they represent. As for what species they can be, they typically are a variation of a generic species--lion, tiger, wolf, ect. Their unnatural blood twists the features so that they never really look like a natural-born creature. Whatever the case, their form is merely a facade. Forms - Existence is multi-layered, and this is true for progenitor demons. In one realm, they may be humans, while in another they may be an animal. Only one form is 'natural' in any environment, as is dictated by that environment. Sigma for example is feline, but if he were to walk among human planes he would be human. Pseudo-Omniscience - The ability to innately comprehend realms is within them. Only two realms are actually viable for progenitors--a human realm, and then Novis itself. They can exist in both--and this often leads them to believing that these are the only realms in existence besides the world of death, Limbo. There are many, many more. As a note, Hell itself is uniform to all realms, so it's a separate entity. Limbo - This is as purgatory is to some religions. It's an altered mirror image of the mortal world, usually differing in size or in paler, or darker, colors. Wraiths and demons wander here, lost spirits among the absence of life. Horrors live on here. In some cases, the veil is torn in such a way that life can exist in it, such as with the existence of Sigma's kingdom, Exotica. Sustenance - While normal food can keep a progenitor alive, they need to consume magic or souls to retain their strength. Relics - Many demons form these upon death--a physical object of some use, created as the soul refuses to pass on and forms a new casing. Progenitors almost always form these, and for this, it's highly common for them to kill any other parentless demons they know of to consolidate power, regardless if that demon was actually a progenitor or not. This form typically leaves them in a state of haze, communication almost impossible besides a slight awareness of the waking world. They are often dormant. These objects range from armor to weapons to jewelry with particular powers; everything is a representation of who they were, so a golden, wind-weaving creature would form a golden object with some sort of power over air. Demons? - In truth, these are not necessarily demons. They are called such, though the alignment of their soul dictates whether they may be angelic or demonic.
Spawn While the spawn of progenitors are usually unremarkable, they can inherit qualities.
Traits Ascended Progenitors - This is the term for when the spawn of a progenitor kills their parent. If both were progenitors, then they inherit the power of only the one they killed, such as in Raiden's case. They are not quite as strong as their parent had been, and if the other parent had been mortal or a weak demon, they may not inherit anything or the power will be too much for them, causing complications where their health declines rapidly. In this case, they forfeit any chance at immortality in exchange for a chance at power. Age - Typically, they're also immortal although this is not always the case. Size & Species - Smaller than their parents, larger than their similar species. Forms - They may inherit a human form too, but neither ascended nor the normal Spawn of progenitors are capable of changing realms. They may move freely from Limbo, the mortal world, and Hell. They do not share the fluid soul of their parent. A Powerful Soul - The fluid nature of progenitor demons causes their direct children to not necessarily abide by genetic code. Alternate colors may present themselves, sometimes different body types. They'll usually look related to some degree even if the color is entirely different--the body will mostly remain similar. As seen in the Delirious line, each of Sigma's children have a variable color palate--blue, black/red, yellow, black/red/green. Sustenance - Normal food is all they need. Parents? Who needs 'em? - In the case that a spawn kills both parents, and these parents both happen to be progenitors, they will fully inherit their powers. They are no longer ascended--they are the first of their kind. Imagine the soul of a spawn--50/50 is the usual mix between one parent and the other. In the case they absorb both parents' souls, the hard genetic line is removed, incorporating both parents' existence into their own. Demonic, Angelic, or Mortal Parents? - This is important. The progenitor's alignment is a crucial factor. A demonic progenitor breeding with an angel or mortal creates a nephalem spawn--their soul is unsteady, their alignment is their choice. The same is with an angelic progenitor with a mortal or demon. Most progenitors avoid this or strike them down while young due to the impact they have on the world or the danger they present to them.

There's a lot of musings on the Delirious line in here--a work of love for the family. I wanted the species to be clearer to everybody, so I'm placing this in the open for viewing. Any questions can be directed at me.
I'm perfectly okay with creativity so if a spinoff of this species comes to mind, have some fun with it! Demons are ambiguous things, there's no right or wrong way to make one.
Another note is you do not need permission to make a progenitor. Nope! None! Just keep in mind that these guys are pretty damn strong, so avoid any roleplay issues this might cause. Be fair, as always. Any progenitors are welcome to plot with Sigma. Let your creative juices do their magic.
And the main reason I call these demons is because I figure angels are essentially created by a god, but these guys are bastardized.

So there may not be any registering or anything like that posted here yet but still, this is my girl Simona 100% Progenitor - she killed both her parents - and inherited both their powers as spoken with FJ's permission - just not sure what those powers may be yet.
