This is nothing more then a section of important coverage on the species, Usually will feature if any new rarities, cubs, or clans that have been spotted. Tygarion adoptions may also show up here,(If interested in adopting from here post below OR PM me.) I will try to keep this updated as time goes on so be sure to check back whenever you can!
Rare Tygarion Spotted! 4/18/2016
A new and special gene trait has been spotted! This color mutation is even more rare then an Albino, Classified as a Half Albino, or in short "Piebald" this trait gives the Tygarion patches, or splotches of color on white, or cream colored fur. The white/cream fur has bee reported to have NO markings(stripes/spots) only the patches of colored areas are seen to have their original striped markings. Sightings of this Tygarion have been spotted roaming and is believed to be male. It is unsure if this special trait is able to be passed on to offspring, more details on this will hopefully be found.

ADULT TYGARION LINEART / TYGARION CUB LINEART
Critically Endangered Species
Tygarion comes from the names of many known feline species such as the tiger, cougar, leopard, and lion which make up the breed's looks, build, and behavior. Catamount stands for 'Cat of the mountains' as many are found to live in the higher altitudes and are excellent climbers. Tygarions are large felines that look much like tigers, their build or body structure compared to average big cats is closely of that of a leopard but a much larger version. They have powerful legs made for jumping and climbing to high places. Males can weigh up to 280 to 310 lbs, females are somewhat smaller weighing in at about 245 to 275 lbs, males reach 5-6ft at the shoulders while females are smaller reaching between 4-5 ft at the shoulders. Females and males both are excellent hunters alone and in groups, usually when hunting alone they tend to stash their kills in hard to get places such as between rocks or up in trees to make it harder for other carnivores to steal their meal but in a group they wont have to worry about their prey being stolen as there is more eyes to watch out for unwelcome guests.
Mutations in their genes caused them to obtain unique features, the ears are large and pointed at the tips. Males and females both have manes the only deference between the two is males have tuffs of chest fur and can have long tuffs of fur hanging from their fore limbs. Another unique feature is their tails, they are long and thin like leopards or tigers but a thick tuff of fur that feathers out towards the tip. Probably the most noticeable feature of this breed is their eyes, where most animals have one eye color or two different color eyes the Tygarions have two different colors in both eyes. While one is their actually eye color the second color surrounds the pupils, the eye colors can come in any color combinations such as teal and pink, or blue and gold.
Their fur is short but thick and soft to the touch much like a tigers coat. Pelt colors can range of any natural colors, however they are never completely white or black. They usually have a mix of stripes and spots but its not uncommon for them to just have stripes. How many stripes they have differ from each feline, some have large stripes that cover only small portions of their body while others have many smaller stripes that cover the whole body. Their marking color is always a darker coloration of their pelt. The color can be barely visible to obviously darker, but is always darker in some shade. Mane colors are any natural looking colors, most of the time their tail feathering/tip and tuffs are the same color as the mane but has been seen with different colors as well.
They are carnivores and each any prey that they can catch, whether it be offspring from other feline or canine species or regular prey animals. Anything goes when it comes to their own survival or their family's. Tygarions have a wide range of vocalization, they purr when relaxed or while showing affection. Soft mews and chirps are used by only females around their offspring and of course the growl, snarl, and hiss when in danger. Unlike most big cat species Tygarions can not roar.
The only way to tell a full blooded apart from a half breed is their eyes. ONLY Pure breeds have two different colors in both eyes, half breeds do not.

Gestation period: 80-96 days
Tygarions come into heat every 4 months but once pregnant they only have one litter a year, some will choose a single partner for life while others choose to live a polygamy life style. Males and female both come into maturity at 2 years of age, usually they seek out their own kind to mate with but many seem to gravitate to other feline like species. Reason for that being pure bred males carry a gene that can produce pure bred offspring even if he mated with someone not of his own species, it is very rare though and has only been reported in a few cases. Females are only in heat for 5 days, during that time the females will constantly spread their scent anyway possible to attract a male.
If a pure bred male takes interest in a female of another species and produce offspring there is a slim chance for one or two of the cubs to inherit the pure bred gene. Meaning the cubs are no longer related to the mothers blood and forms their own new pure Tygarion bloodline, this is a way of survival that helps and controls inbreeding among their species since there are so few of them left. (Permission is needed for this by me first!)
The max litter for pure bred females is three cubs, rarely will there be a fourth. Cubs are born without markings, as they grow older their markings start to show and are usually fully visible at the age of 4 months. Markings range from very few stripes to almost full body cover, rarely some have been seen with blotchy spots. Beware! Females are very protective of their cubs, even if a pair chooses to raise their cubs together the female might not let the father meet the cubs until they are at least 12 weeks old. Cubs grow normally just like any other feline species, some choose to stay with their parents, forming a family clan while others will go out to find their own mate and to start their own life.
