Zalui Xemvoi
The ocean's breeze came with a cooling relief, not that the days scorched any longer. Nostrils flared to the heavily salted air. He had to admit, the larger body of water was indeed a beautiful sight. But he would never dream to venture in, nor taste its inhabitants. Zalui had never been one for fish any how. The scales would always slip to the far reaches under his tongue in a most uncomfortable way. No, he was glad to just admire. Spots of blood still oozed from gashes that lined the males body. Zalui had cleaned most but had given up when the larger ones continued. They'd scab and heal eventually he figured. An ebony claw lay deeply lodged in the lower part of his chest, rather close to his left arm pit. The Shadowed-Demon mutt had in the end decided to leave it there. A somewhat trophy of what he had survived. The arrival of a certain uncle had not gone unnoticed. Yet, Shade was the least of Zalui's worries. T.O had shown mercy towards him when he was young. He had chased off Zalui's non-SDemon mother and taken in his half blooded son. Why, Zalui will never know, nor did he care to know. Rumor had it that T.O had even killed the rest of Zalui's litter mates. Now whether that was true had him curious, but again he would most likely never know. No, Shade was not the one to worry about. His older uncle had never been one to care about the mixing of bloodlines and species. It was the family members that would most likely come in search to check on the pureblood. Zalui didn't care if his family knew where he was. He could handle himself. And he had a pride to back him up. It was his daughter he worried for. The Shadowed-Demonic's hardly were able to handle the fact that he existed. Zalui wouldn't know how to handle himself if Circa was out on her own and came face to face with, God forbid, Tilren. Til had made it perfectly clear through out their cub hood that he would destroy any child Zalui ever had. Purge the land of the foul blood. Sometimes Zalui was thankful that his daughter had taken after Creeo. Unless questioned one would most likely never know he was her father. Circa could very well be mistaken for a Donovan with her red pelt and blue eyes. Since the arrival of Shade, Zalui had kept a watchful eye out for any other surprise Xemvoi pop-ups. Mostly Tainted-One and Darker. Throughout his youth his father and uncles were always together. Unless Shade had broken away from his older brother's "Coven". But the uncle and nephew had not spoken, nor did Zal care to speak to the Xemvoi male.
Zalui winced to the sudden and sharp pain that came from one of his wounds. He had done another perimeter check, not for La Morte but for Shadoweds. He would keep them at bay one way or another. So far he had not been caught going off alone, and so he continued; every two days for an entire day. He had not seen much of his daughter in the past few weeks but he would do what needed done in order to ensure her safety. And the day came that Tilren came knocking. He had been hanging around the far end of the Southern border. It had taken a few tries but Zalui had eventually tracked him down. What ensued was nothing of the friendly sort. There were no words exchanged, no chances given. Once the two had seen one another the battle raged. Yet the brother's were evenly matched, they always had been. So when they were both exhausted and nearing the end they crawled away. Tilren would see another day. He would most likely slink off to lick his wounds and plot for revenge, just as Zalui did now.

Shade
"Looks like you've got yourself in a tussle." Came a voice from a bit away- not physically close enough to be within earshot, but mentally enough. Scents around where he really stood though, told him wonders.
The shadowed demon had looked for a moment alone, no doubt to rekindle a relationship with those who shared his namesake, but he knew the likeliness of Zalui taking well to him was very, very far fetched. He knew his family well, and what they stood for, and it was the exact reason he was a loner now, far from them. Doubts in his own mind about Rose's cubs weren't far back either, he had made sure to stay away from her for the most of her pregnancy, perhaps to relieve some suspicions that may have rose from him being close to the pride, yet he knew that trouble may eventually find it's way to him if it had already found it's way to Zalui. Though, he at least had some keen confidence that if anyone came knocking on his door involving his spawn, they would soon be found dead.
"It was family, wasn't it?" He continued, a fretting sound coming silently from his maw as he gazed about the tattered ground with white eyes. Shade knew that he was the last Zalui would want to see, but he had his own to look out for as well, just as the other male did.
(( Hope this is okay ;o; if it's not do tell me, I thought it'd be an interesting time to bring Shade in ))

Apart from red fur bristling, Zalui made no other immediate movements. "Tussle.." He grumbled, as if trying the words on his tongue. Golden gaze slowly shifted toward the older male, his head following slowly, stiffly from his fight. "No, it was not family. The only family I ever had T.O chased out of my life years ago." Purposely did he leave out his offspring. Zalui was skeptical of Shade's intentions and he was not about to openly mention the existence of his child. Lids squinted for merely a moment before Zalui turned his head back toward the ocean. "Tilren." He said simply. Shade would get the picture, Zal knew he would. The half siblings had been at each other's throats from the moment they first ever caught sight of the other. An ear swiveled toward the black uncle. "I noticed you arrived here weeks ago.. Alone." Shade's reasons for arrival were still unclear, therefore he was a threat. However, Shade had taken part, along with Darker, in training Zalui from the time he was able to run to the time he left the Coven. So threatening or attacking the Shadowed would not have been the best choice. So Zalui had never tried.

The black male nodded. Tilren. A name of such familiarity wasn't soon to be forgotten by him. "And I thought I'd get some piece and quiet around here, at least for the time being." He grumbled, looking away from the other male and towards the camp concernedly. White eyes darted upwards as he tasted the air, looking for the male's fresh scent. Gone for now, but not forever. The mention of his arrival in Meurtrier made his maw shut, and his mind open in contrast. Who knew when skilled ears would catch his words, and with Rose being close to birth, no risks could be taken with his family snooping around. "I don't care about your folly boy, if that's what you mean. I'm here on my own terms, seeing you and your daughter here was simply a surprise."

He turned toward the other, but their attention was elsewhere for the moment. Zalui took that brief opportunity to put his skills in motion and observe Shade. He seemed relaxed enough, though not entirely. The thought of the winged male settling here and having cubs was the furthest conclusion from Zalui's mind. He took Shade to be a dead set purest like all the rest. Zal finally dropped his scrutinizing stare. If Shade was here for peace then so be it. But he quickly switched to the defensive at the mention of Circa. How could he have possibly known? Was he in fact a spy for T.O? Though now paranoid, the red beast kept his head. He tried to focus on his uncles words; his voice. In the end he didn't seem to be lying about being taken by surprise. "So you know." He huffed, rolling his shoulders, tail giving a flick. Zalui was indeed quite disappointed that his hopes on Circa not passing as his fell through. Slowly his head tilted back to allow the tip of a horn to scratch between the shoulders. "In any case, it'll be awhile before Tilren recovers. So I suppose you can enjoy your peace and quiet a bit longer."

Neo was on his way to return to the Veldt, albeit taking his time. As a giant, the male needed to hunt the largest prey available, and a stop by the sea would certainly assist in such a pursuit. He had been circling high in the clouds for hours, watching a small group of humpback whales move closer to shore as the tide came in. He wanted the water to be less than thirty feet before he made his move. Unlike many, there were few things that were not within his ability to hunt, though some were more inconvenient than others. The gentle giants moved gracefully through the water, sticking close enough together that a quick kill could prove difficult. The monster was not fond of getting wet, so he continued to circle above his ignorant prey. His eyes soon lit up as one of the bulls broke away from the group, moving ten then fifty meters off.
The black beast adjust his position and gained a bit more height before taking a straight dive toward the beast. Only once did he flap his wings before clasping them to his side, which produced a concussive thud that vibrated the water and sand nearby. The whale responded much too late and Neo's jaws and claws slammed into the creature with such force that they were nearly to the ocean floor, yet not even wet. This caused a wave to travel to shore before the water closed in over Neo and his prey. It was a few minutes before Neo surfaced, though he was walking out of the water, dragging a carcass with him, soaked with saltwater. Though, given the time he was under, the water had not managed to make its way to his skin in all areas, yet.
He shook himself off, wings and all when he was on the packed sand. Only then did he notice that he had approached two others. They had a similar scent, and he recognize Zalui. The other was not quite so familiar. He dropped the end of the whael, which looked like it had been attacked by something far stronger and larger than Neo. However, as he had just pulled the goliath onto the beach, it was safe to say that even though he was a mammoth, he was stronger than he appeared. He remained silent as he regarded the pair before pulling the whale in further, leaving a thick swath of blood behind him.

Shade
"Yes, Rose informed me when we met. A skilled Captain indeed, she's a powerful asset to the pride, it's no wonder you're looking to keep her protected." He muttered, sensing the obvious surprise in his nephew's voice as his outlook suddenly changed. "But If that were such a dire secret, you ought have done better keeping it as such... As soon as I gave my name to her she pointed to you and Circa as apparent relatives, it's no secret to pride members." The black male made a gesture with a snap of his claw as if to say, I figured out, just like that.
His hackles rose as the tension picked up again with the unease that radiated from Zalui, he had struck a nervous chord, and he could tell his reliability was fading. A sigh escaped him, letting his fur lie flat once again. He was here for peace, not threat, but a softer scolding tone emitted from the shadowed demon's mind as he spoke up again. "It could have been anyone else that asked her that piece of information, but lucky for you, it was me." He uttered within his mind, narrowing his eyes at the younger demon, "I have no intention of telling the family, nor seen them in a long time anyway. I'm here for Rose, my unborn, and none else. I would much rather make peace with you than sell your child- and my own- to a pack of hungry wolves so to speak, it seems Meurtrier has enough problems without their Captain being threatened, anyway."

(Tis the beach... Does the territory not have a beach? .___. If not then by all means, move this thread out of the Veldt and into unoccupied territory LOL That was my bad. Also, it appears that WG got a bit ninja'd so to save everyone from edits, how about we say Alice's post was posted AFTER WG's? xD)

Rose.. The beast would make note of her blabber. True he had not made it known to the Pride to keep his business secret, but it was just sere common sense. You trust no strangers until they've been dealt by the superiors first. What if Shade had been there on T.O's terms and not his own. That dunderheaded red lioness could have pointed death right in Circa's direction. Giving himself a mental shake, Zal focused back in on what was being said next. The expression that crossed Zalui's face could be counted as quite comical. Shock and surprise didn't come close to his reaction. His was something far greater. Never in a million years would Zalui have suspected. But just as quick he pulled himself together, watching Shade; yet no longer in that judgmental way of his. Before he could comment, noises from the further down the shore caught the brute's attention. Gold's narrowed to focus on what the hell was coming out of the water and widened when he recognized one of the Crimson brothers. From the distance it was hard to distinguish which brother but obvious it was one or the other. A brow rose as Zalui studied the larger beast and what he was working to the banks. It was large whatever it was. "I suppose then it's wise to say we shouldn't worry about one another." His words for Shade but eyes still on the Crimson. If Shade had finally broken from the Xemvoi traditions, and had even left, then what other balances had shifted in the Coven? What Zalui truly wanted to know was whether his aunt was still alive. For in that hellish world he was forced to live, she had always been his beacon of hope of better things to come. Was she still there against her own will or had she left? He doubted she'd be dead, no Shadowed-Demon would ever dare to kill their own female. But he left it to his imagination. If Shade had been gone for as long as he had said, then he most likely did not know himself.

Finally, the air lightened up a bit; the male had got his point across successfully, and the brief look on Zalui's face seemed to assure that, least for the time being. He understood, and a half smirk formed on Shade's face in satisfaction at the male's reaction, he would much rather have that than aggression at this point. His maw opened as he prepared to make a further statement, but stopped as the large lumbering shape of a beast appeared in the near distance, along with the loud, odd sound of dragging behind it. His fur had yet to ruffle in any sort of surprise, in fact the sight of a large feline wasn't much, not to mention he had seen him in Meurtrier- it was what drug behind him that made him grow a questioning look. "What in the hell is that thing you drug up here?"

I hope this is okay - I skype'd Drift about it, but I'm kind of impatient/eager to rp her ^^; So I kinda warped a few things we discussed Drift x: Ilu! ♥ Cameel
The older female had followed her nephew, Tilren, as he tracked away from the Coven. She'd been suspicious of where he'd been going - and she saw her way out. She'd been 'escorted' away from the territory by her nephew, for anyone who'd asked. Tilren had just been too impatient to wait for her. She wanted to see Zalui though - and she'd found out Shade had gone pretty quickly as well, and part of her did kind of miss him - he was her brother after all, but if he could leave then so could she, of that she was determined. Cameel had grown tired of feeling trapped back there, of feeling so insignificant towards other and having to basically stay on a leash.
It irked her beyond words, and so here she was, on the beach, having watched a scene she wished she hadn't seen honestly. She'd seen the fight Tilren had with Zalui - and so badly wanted to step in, but she couldn't. She knew that Zalui could handle himself, she'd always had faith in him. Complete anticipation had filled her as she dug her claws into the ground, adrenaline rushing through her veins in want to go and assist her favorite nephew, but she held still until it was over. She made sure she was out of sight when Tilren dragged himself off, and she watched in somewhat of a shock as Shade, the very one who'd just crossed her mind, approached Zalui.
She creeped up on them from behind, keeping low to the ground, and making sure she was out of sight from the two - and listened in on what they were saying - they were both having cubs? It surprised her beyond words, especially coming from Shade, but she was happy for them both. They were finding happiness, and that's what mattered in her opinion. However, she froze when she saw a beast - large, magnificent beast dragging a something larger than itself inland.
She swallowed harshly, slight fear building in her. She'd never seen something as that, and it honestly worried and scared her. However, she figured if that creature didn't go and bother Zalui and Shade, she was safe too.... For now. Her gaze cast back upon her brother and nephew, and she straightened up again, closing her eyes, she calmed herself down, and then allowed a smile to cross her face.. And cleared her throat loudly. She stood there, tail tip flicking back and forth in anticipation once more, and waited eagerly for their reactions. [/blockquote] dun keel meh for my impatience <<

Zalui's chest puffed for a moment as he took in a large inhale. "Whatever it is.. It smells fishy." No pun intended. He added inwardly. Yet Neo just went about his business, which came as no surprise. Jasper and his brother were both one big mystery. Ears twitched to the sound of another. Sorely his head turned, gold's narrowing onto the figure. Recognition came quickly and it was not joy the beast felt, but panic. If she was here then he had to be somewhere. Nostrils flared for a sign of his father but the only scent of him was what lingered on Cameel. Easing a tad, Zal slowly stood, flaming tail giving a hard flick. More than four long years it had been since he had seen his aunt. He remained silent as he took her in. The two still shared the same reddened pelt and golden gaze. Throughout his cubhood Zalui had always dreamed that he was in fact Cameel's son and not T.O's. Alas, they had only been dreams. Her smile warmed him to his core and then he thought of Circa. He knew there was a reason why his daughter's smile had always found a way to tug at his heart strings, now he remembered. He suddenly wanted Circa here, to show her off to her great-aunt. Zalui knew without a doubt that the two female's would be just as close as he and his aunt had been. Then reality set in. "Shade, did you know she was here? Did she come here with you?" Why and how is she alone?

Neo curled with the whale he had killed and used his horned skull the help rip the flesh with ease, getting the undesirable sand off the carcass with a few superficial beats of his wings. "It's a whale," he stated, looking their way. Moments later, his fangs were tearing apart the beast, enjoyed the taste of the flesh. The meat was tender and laced with flavorful fat, making it so much better than any fat lion. This meal would feed him for a month at least, maybe more if he truly finished it. "It's a mammal. Not at all fishy," he added. Zalui's comment was not lost upon him. "The scent comes from the ocean." His eyes fell upon the other figure, but he said nothing, aware that he was now amidst a family reunion, given their scent and appearances.
He sensed a certain degree of tension, however, thus he remained alert, though such was hard to tell, given how torn his ears were.

Shade
"Come with me? Who?" He started, eyes widening and looking around in confusion. Immediately though, he spotted the 'ess that Zalui now watched; his heart lit up with recognition, and his mouth curled to a smile. He opened his maw and a delighted sound flowed out at the sight of his sister. "Cameel! Dearest sister, you were just on my mind!" He hummed, however stopped himself from moving towards her. She was his lovely sister, of course, and he trusted her to the ends of the earth most of the time- but was she still part of the Coven? It had been so long since he'd seen her, the urge to run and nuzzle her was hard to down. Ignoring the stench of fish wafting as the large male ripped into the disgusting creature right in front of them, much to Shade's annoyance, the inevitable question came through. Her appearance so close to Tilren's was... Concerning. "How did you find your way here, sister?"
