NOVIS Server Plans [Coming Soon]

Yes tis true friends, Novis is getting it's own personal server. I discovered that I'd previously gotten a server from KITO to play around with a while back, and decided to put it to good use- considering we could use a server of our own that's always there for character making and roleplay purpose. That being said, this will be a very CASUALLY done server, as this is for the forum members to use only. This server will not be open to anyone outside of the forum- and if you're banned on the forum? Well consider yourself banned on the server too. They go hand in hand.

The server is alive and working, even with a few members (I, Blade, Kahara, and Soli) already on it for testing purposes, however I don't want to release the download link for the entire forum until I've at least got it the point where NOVIS looks like an individual. The first release of the server's download will include:

New Maps (based on what we have on Novis) and old IT maps removed that we don't use (of course they can always be re-added). New maps included are:

• Voodoo, Atoza, Ayona
• Arelth, Eastern Veldt Mountains
• Castellum
• Asylum Maps
• Daku Yume
• Emerald Clan Maps
• Hellet (?)
• Walter's Island (New Default)

(If you want your map added or removed, contact me!)
A re-routed portal system that isn't completely randomized.
A New Interface look (to look more Novis-y). Best believe that gross font is changing.

And that's just the basics to get through. After it's released, I'm going to be working on a few more things like adding items, markings, and hopefully body parts that can help us more with character making. An automatic updater is in the works too- but I don't wanna get too ahead of myself until I get the base shit done.


If you have any suggestions of things that you might want in the server, comment! Things that were convenient in other servers or things they did to make it look nicer (ie. the eyes in Growl or a different body texture of some sort). Just keep suggestions within reason.

Sanguis Map? I cant make maps but I can sketch out a layout of what it might look like o.o

And Imma need to learn to make presets >.< Some of my new babus have (non-IT?) markings.

I've a list of maps I'd like to make, and WG may be enslaving me enlisting me to help her, too.

If you sketch it out, I can do my best. Right now my plans include a Silent Hill-esque map. B)

Yeah, we could mayhaps start a commission system for making maps o: I'll leave that up for my better map-makers to decide.

As for markings, I do really want to initiate some markings that go along with some that our characters have. We don't exactly have some of those marks anymore (such as Zalui's from SOE and Royal Skies markings that we used for Meccariellos) so those we can either re-create or add back in depending on who owns them and whats still around I suppose~ But I'm completely open to adding new markings if any of yall would like to suggest a mark- maybe even one that your character has that you wouldn't mind putting in?

Totally up for it. As long as it doesen't stray too far from from the basic one.(just visually) Mmmm.
Well guess I can supply you guys with a few meshes, textures or maybe even maps and prey e-e

As of maps. I have the Dakundar caverns, but dunno if it still works and if all the meshes show up :'3 let alone if one wants to live in that hellish underground land.
Same for the Reed mazeland and emerald grove. Some of which might be used as templates for new maps... And the meshes could be recycled!

Dude what the piss that map is amazing! If it still works, I wouldn't mind adding it in- plus that'd be a pretty amazing map in roleplay too >o> 

Right now I am actually looking for a house mesh, preferably one that looks like a cabin or a small abandoned abode, if you (or anyone else for that matter) have any ideas?

A cool idea if it were able to be added, is a species picker when making a character. And in that specifcally picked species would be makings and stuff specific for that species.
And then the main option to start from scratch where all markings and heads and tails are available.
Though I realize that would probably require more work than its worth.

This really is exciting, yes. I'd wondered if there would ever be a server tied to Itera or Novis--plans had been concepted sometimes, but never pushed through. It's exciting to see it be put into action. There's a wealth of resources, too!

It's a neat idea, but it sounds as if it'd require an almost entire character creation revamp to ensure only specific markings appear when a species is selected. And naturally, I assume a species 'none' would be there. Considering it's only us (this forum) and we pretty much know how to make the species involved here, I feel it'd be a bit superfluous. But hey, that's just me.
