VASKA KAIN-SULDAN Sixteen days.
Sixteen very long days since he'd come to live with the Guild. Sixteen days where he was betrothed to the lady of the Guild, and made to live in a place he was very unfamiliar with. Having to remake his life, make friends, be social, get along with Leona. Perhaps he was jumping to conclusions when he found himself not taking a keen interest in her. It saddened him greatly, as she was a fine female to be around.. but his heart wasn't in it at the moment.
Maybe he'd take solace in her presence some other time, but he was just feeling his heavy heart burden him with homesickness. He missed his mother, his father, his siblings. They didn't make any attempts to contact him. Why was that? Were they fine with him just being here, not worrying about him in the slightest? Did Reno do this just to shove him out?
He knew he wasn't of Reno's blood. He wasn't a Donovan, but his soon-to-be brothers and sisters were. He was a Suldan male, through and through. His nose wrinkled in thought, wondering if the motive was to drive him out so he couldn't contest the throne.. nah, couldn't be it. Besides, he could care less about royalty.
And then the thoughts went to his father. His late, deceased father. The one that his mother sometimes spoke about, Reno told about him once or twice and no one else really knew. He had a faint image, but Reno had been more of a father figure in his life. He wondered how he would have treated him if he had been alive.
The day wore on, overcast clouds rolled by and Vaska was struck with a bad feeling. Like something really bad had happened all of a sudden. It wasn't full blown panic, but just a bad feeling. Something telling him to go back to La Morte, head back to Arelth.
He breathed a heavy sigh and shook his head. Nah, he was just homesick.
Time to head back. Didn't want to seem like he was lazing about.
He liked Leona. But he wished he was in the mood to like her.

Camille had been laying down at the ponds edge, the same pond that Ducarious had helped her waddle to when she'd been heavily pregnant with her cubs and had been in dire need of fresh air. Her ears flicked when she caught sound of crunching grass and she tilted her head to catch sight of Vaska. He had been so down as of late, and she felt sorry for him really. Pushing herself to sit up, Camille cleared her throat softly, and motiobed Vaska to join her, an invitation that could be declined should he choose to do so.

Leona Novic It's not that she didn't like Vaska or would at times try to avoid him on purpose, just that she was unsure at how she felt about him and never really knew what to say to him. She'd be nervous and fumble over words whenever she spoke to him which was so unlike her she knew that she cared for Vaska at least though if that was simply out of pity she did not know. Perhaps she hadn't gotten over the fact that Camry was gone and she had wanted to argue about this whole betrothal but had kept quiet. She missed her brother so much, even missed his boyish antics when he used to constantly embarrasses or annoy her. Every night she'd find herself looking up into the night sky worry hitting her as she would hope Camry was safe under those same stars. Stepping out of the den she had been just awoken in she looked around cautiously and soon spotted Vaska. Her ears dropped as she saw his face. She was never any good at cheering others up she thought the only thing she could do to hopefully make Vaska more comfortable was at least put on a smile, though she doubted it helped at all. Leona noticed her mother suddenly inviting Vaska to join her at the pond, so not wanting to disturb them she simply sat down outside the den a small smile on her face as she looked up into the morning sun. She didn't really notice Ryker until his pale coat crossed the corner of her eye and she turned to look him as he headed towards her mother and Vaska. Tilting her head she wondered what that male was up too.

VASKA KAIN-SULDAN Vaska was surprised to see Camille resting all by herself - usually the time he'd seen her was when she came back from the hunt, or had finished her patrols and was winding down with nap. The only time he had really conversed fully was when they exchanged their males and went away with their betrothed. As much as Vaska didn't want to converse with the mother of his betrothed, he was desperate enough to talk to someone and elevate some of the homesick.
"Good afternoon, Camille," He greeted with a low, tired voice and proceeded to take rest next to the adult female. "What brings you out here? Aren't you off with the hunt?"
Out of the corner of his eye he spied that Nikolai guy.. the one that had been giving him trouble. Well.. not so much trouble as it was just pure narcissism and prejudice against the teenager. No doubt he'd try and wind him up in from of Camille, just to make him look bad.

Camille smiled softly at him, her tail patting the space beside her as he approached. "Its good to take a break from life every now and then. Gives time to gather ones thoughts." She responded lightly. Then glanced at him. "I know you miss your family, so I ask this with asking for honesty, how are you finding things here?" Her gaze was warm as she looked at Vaska, and then she caught sight of Ryker and nodded for him to join them but she had also seen Vaska's look at the male. So in his defense she gave Ryker a leveled look to be nice. She glanced around then, wondering who else had appeared and saw Leona from a far. She waved her over with her tail, but flicked an ear to let her daughter know she didn't have to join them. Her gaze then landed back on Vaska and she titles her head curiously as she waited for a reply.

Leona Novic She hesitated when she saw her mother spot her and invite her over but smiled a little as her mother didn't force her. Still though she began to feel silly for spying on them almost wouldn't want to leave anyone thinking she was an eavesdropper. So she stood up and began to slowly walk over to the three nodding politely at Ryker and managing a smile for Vaska as she came in close enough to nuzzle her mother in greeting before taking a seat next to her. Turning her head she decided to look at Ryker as he flopped onto his side instead of turning to look at Vaska.

VASKA KAIN-SULDAN The young male could only give a small huff as he watched Nikolai and Leona come over, a smile for her and a simple nod for him. They both settled down, and Vaska didn't really have anything to change in his thoughts despite the two new arrivals. He tilted his head in thought. "Hard. I know you're all trying your best to make me feel welcome, and it's appreciated.. but I've been stuck to my family since forever. Kinda hard to tear myself away from them, you know? But Ducarius has been nice to me, and you all have been too." He didn't bother to acknowledge Ryker in that instance. "Then again, I'm not alone in all this. Camry's in the same position I am."

Camille nodded as he spoke, her ears focused on him to show she was listening and that he had her full attention. When he finished she turned her gaze to the horizon. "I can't say I know what you're feeling. I left my family on my own when I was a teen. But I can say I'm sure your family misses you and worries dor you - just as we miss Camry and worry for him. I had actually been determined to raise my cubs as family oriented actually, unlike my parents had." Her lips quirked into a wry smile at some distant memory. But her gaze flicked down at Vaska again. "We shall have to let you go see them soon though, if this is the case. Perhaps we could take a surprise visit trip down to them if Ducarious doesn't mins, hmm?" She glanced at Leona. "And we could even go visit Camry. What do you guys think?" The smile turned into a little grin as she awaited their response.

(thought this would be interesting, if it's not okay inform me >o>) Sinna
When the lioness said she would hunt... She was only half right. It had occurred to her somewhere midst the animal slaughtering the unfairness that her brother not even know right away the news of their sister's death... So she would carry it to the allying pride herself, whether be causing a problem or not. She really didn't have the time to think how it would upset the alliance by worrying her brother, but dammit she thought he had a right to know what was happening in his former pride, and perhaps the Guild did too.
From a distance she could see figures that obviously defined the pride, and she headed toward them, more than prepared to meet whatever patrol that might intercept her. A chuff was let out, announcing her appearance. To her brother, she hoped the noise would be familiar.

Its fine lol this already been done ~ posting again just cause of what it is.
Camille didn't have to wait long for a response - although it was not the response she was expecting. A chuff from the other direction made her raise to her paws and she caught sight of the child from the alliance meeting. Her heart dropped, fear grasping at her as to why Sinna - the betrothed of her son - would be coming here. "Sinna, m'dear, we were just talking about a visit... What are you doing all the way out here on your own?" Concern filled her voice and she walked over to meet the girl.

Sinna
Luckily, she was remembered and recognizable. "I came to see my brother..." She mumbled in monotone, only speaking to the mother of her betrothed directly before even thinking to speak to her brother- it wasn't time for that yet. Quickly and quietly, she began. "A battle has happened in Meurtrier, whether you've already gotten word or not-" She paused, realizing that the mother in front of her was likely worried of her son's status. "Camry is fine, completely fine." She included, to relieve any worry she had caused, before continuing. "But... I would like to speak to Vaska, someone close to us has passed away."

VASKA KAIN-SULDAN His head shot up straight away - he was about to reply to Camille, perhaps spill more of his own thoughts, when a familiar voice caught him astray. And his ears hadn't deceived him in the slightest. "S-Sinna?! What the.." He was up at his paws, in shock at his sister who had dropped by unexpectedly. And here he was planning to send a message or even drop by unexpectedly himself.. then again, good ol' Sinna. Always one step ahead.
Vaska huffed a relieved breath through his lips as he heard that Camry was okay. At least she wasn't hurt.. but the painful expression on her face was telling. Something had happened at home.
The news when he had found out he was going to be an older brother came with a weird, tight feeling in his stomach.. something he couldn't describe. But when Sinna said those words, that same feeling came about. But it wasn't for a good reason this time. He sucked in his emotions for a second and nodded to the group. "Excuse me for a moment, everyone." He took his sister aside.
The wind seemed to blow extra sharply at that moment, as he just stared down at Sinna, trying to read her, wondering what the hell was going on and what was she hiding. He was anxious. But he also couldn't hide his utmost relief at seeing her alive. "What.. what's going on, Sin?" He asked. "How's La Morte? Is Mother and Father okay? Scratch that, is the whole damn family okay?!"

Sinna
Before Camille could even reply, her brother tugged her aside, and anger faded for a moment as she nuzzled her snout into his shoulder. "Vaska..." she sighed, almost relieved as if she had found her sibling again. One moment of reminiscence before she broke the news to him, where she could re-greet her brother again. She forgot how much she could miss him.
There was little time to keep him waiting, though, she wasn't looking to gather suspense. "Mother and... Reno, are fine." She mumbled, withdrawing from his shoulder, Purples looking up at him with deep concern. "Meurtrier attacked because Jericho stole one of their cubs, the idiot... They surprised us. We took one of their lives, so I heard, but they got one of ours too..." Pain began to become apparent in her voice, and anger resurfaced at the sheer thought of the enemy killing her sister, and likely celebrating her death as a partial victory- at least in her view of them, they were fucking monsters. Her hackles raised but she tried to calm herself, shutting her eyes tight to hold back angry tears, "They killed our sister... They killed Asera... I'm sorry Vaska, I thought you needed to know..."
