Saveve
Flicking her tail impatiently, Saveve trotted forward. She was bored. She was irritated. She lacked the patience to travel place to place. The small group she had encountered and traveled with for a short time provided little entertainment. But they had split on her at the first sign of danger. And that peeved her beyond belief. Then again, this rain wasn't helping either, and she was pretty sure she'd crossed a border line into some territory a while back as well. The prospect of stumbling across a pride made her pelt tingle in excitement. She was daring, yeah, and perhaps a bit dangerous and wild and out of her mind, but she simply didn't care. Instead, she slowed down to a walk, calmly pacing now as she became slightly wary at the prospect of meeting anyone at all. [/blockquote]

Savave
The female stopped abruptly, as a large - much much larger frame came into her peripheral vision. Eyeing this male a moment, she huffed, then shook herself head to toe to rid herself of at least some of the water that had attatched itself to her pelt, her mane, and made her looked like a drenched cat. Her mood was spikey, it always had been but this was outrageous. She kept her maw closed for a moment or two, just examining the male who had interupted her stride, then shrugged and sat down. "If I said no or yes, it matters not, does it? Half the results would be the same." But she gave him a quirk of her lips, amusement flickering in her violet orbs. "However, yes, I am aware." She cocked her head to one side, and blew a puff of air at a lock of her mane that fell in her face. She wished it was short once more, but it had been a long while since she'd gotten it 'cut', and it had grown out annoyingly so to fall into her face constantly. She flicked her tail. "Crossed it somewhere back there, just didn't think today was border patrol day." It was light teasing, Saveve was an outgoing kind of creature, and she did enjoy falling into light banter with anyone. [/blockquote]

[/i] He said in an overly wisdom-like tone, but he smiled and sat down as well. "If you're aware, then you're either desperate, or curious. Not many walk the jungle in fear of the floods and out of anger for the nonstop rain. I've grown to like it, when it doesn't soak my bedding. Tell me, if you wish, why you've come here?" He asked.[/ul][/blockquote]

Saveve
She grinned in response to his laugh, one fang flashing as it peaked over her lip, and snickered herself at his tone of voice. "I'd prefer curious, honestly. I can't say I'm enjoying being a drenched little kitty right now, but I have never minded rain. It's nature, and if one can't appreciate that, then one can't appreciate life, however small apart it is of life." She shrugged, her expression calming in memory with the answer she gave. Then she looked him over again, taking in his appearance better than she had before hand - she noted the wings, they intrigued her.
"Traveling as I have all my life tends to lead me to new places," She shrugged, "The small group I traveled with were too fearful to come into this overgrowth, but I on the other hand," She made a small dip of her head, a mocking little bow as another grin pulled at her maw with her next statement. "Curious little feline, at your service." She wondered who he was, what pride he was a part of since his mentioning it, but didn't bother to ask. She didn't care to at this moment, merely enjoying the light banter they shared, and she would avoid giving her name for as long as possible - she would thoroughly enjoy each second. [/blockquote]

[/i] He said as he rolled his shoulders and stretched his wings out to shake the rain from the feathers. "It's a shame your fearful friends feared too much to enter the jungle. They would have been welcomed equally. But at least you came, and I'm thankful for what peaceful guests come our way. You can call me Verdammt, by the way." Verdammt said. [/ul][/blockquote]

Saveve
She tossed her head back and laughed as he used her 'given title'. She hadn't been expecting that one at all and it amused her greatly. After a moment she shook her head again, and then met his gaze. "I would not start a random fight for no reason, and I appreciate the invitation - though I do hope your pride mates are as witty and smart as you seem to be - wouldn't be very fun otherwise with it seeming as if I'm insulting them would it?" She chuckled again, and then shrugged, standing and stretching her limbs. "Hardly friends honestly. Just some merry-band of creatures who thought they were all big and bad, and were honestly rather annoying. They were young, and there were only two of 'em. If they didn't want to stick around that's up to them, but I've been alone all my life with little company... So I suppose some for a small while would be nice." She noted the way he welcomed her there, they way her worded his words. "I don't suppose you would be pride leader then? Goodness me, how rude I've been, m'lord." She gave another little mocking bow, snorting and flicking her tail tip. It was never her forte to change attitude for another. [/blockquote]

VERDAMMT
[/i] Or at least he assumed. No one had ever appeared to be easily angered. Sometimes Sessian got fussy, but that was it! Nothing to worry about. Verdammt listened on about Saveve's little gang of misfits that didn't dare enter jungle with her, then chuckled when she mockingly bowed. "A 'lord' I am, my little pride here. Nuanfang or something because kah never spells it right the first time Pride. A name sure to twist your tongue several different ways before you get it right. Which doesn't bother me. So far into the jungle I doubt we've been heard of before. Unless you have?" He asked.[/ul][/blockquote]

Saveve
Saveve blinked several times at the name of the pride. Before snorting, eyes wide. "Twist my tongue for sure - I'd rather not even try until I'm sure I got it down first." She chuckled after this, shaking her head. "But no, I have not heard of it before. I must admit - I was raised to stay away from prides, so I truly know nothing about them. Just some background knowledge of how they work. Leader, sometimes a second, fighters, healers, and spies." She gave a small shrug then, casting her eyes to the side. "Honestly, I've always thought it too good to be true." Her voice became soft with these words. She'd always questioned her parents on why they did not have this provided protection of a pride, on why they couldn't stick close to one. Then she gave a small sigh. "Having that kind of company - small or not - I would honestly be grateful for then." She cast her violet gaze back to him, tilting her head and huffing her wet mane out of her face. "Any place dry as well with this company?" And she was back to teasing, a smile quirking at her lips again.

VERDAMMT
[/i] He said with a chuckle. Verdammt didn't want to offend her, after all, he had just met her. "Some prides work like that, yes, but some are, as some many say, more natural. Just a dominant male, or a female, with subordinates. It's very feral. They don't really work like most of us do, but they live a happy existence. Blissfully ignorant, I guess." Verdammt had never personally met a feral pride, but he would love to observe one someday. "Aha, yes, our dens are rather large and well protected from the rain. When on outings we look for dens and caves in hill and mountain sides that may provide an even better place of warmth and protection. It isn't easy, though. Of the few I've encountered, they were already inhabited. Would you like to come back to the camp, though? Spend time in the den where we can talk without the rain?" Verdammt asked.[/ul][/blockquote]

Saveve
A soft smile crossed her face as she listened to him speak. For some reason she found it soothing, his voice. It was serene almost, and she could tell each word he spoke was just him enjoying a good conversation without being that leader, without having that title. It pleased her on some level too. She nodded in response to him though after he'd finished, standing and stretching her body out, a small groan escaping her maw at the feel. And then she cast him a sly glance, "Ya know... Most wouldn't invite someone to a den without knowing their name..." she said, grinning as her plan of holding out was successful. For the most part. "But yes, one of those warm dens would certainly be most pleasant right now. And I would love to see where your pride resides and meet some others too."
She walked up to him, taking liberty to flick her tail against his shoulder teasingly as she tilted her head. "The names' Saveve. Lead the way." But she only paused for a moment to garner his reaction before she responded to his earlier words. "My parents didn't care for prides for whatever reason, really. We lived in the mountains for a short time, and I suppose with not much going on there - there wasn't a need for such protection. Or maybe they'd just been annoyed from having been in a pride before - I know they were part of one and always spoke ill of it." She cast him a sideways glance, "Perhaps in some way we lived that feral kind of life you speak of. Just the few of us."

VERDAMMT
[/i] Replied Verdammt with a sly smile and wink. "But thank you for your name nonetheless, Saveve. I'm sorry your parents didn't care for prides. But all to their own, I suppose. It makes sense, what you say." He said as they walked back to the camp. Zehn was out, perhaps on a hunt. Sessian too. He could tell from the moment he walked into the camp with Saveve. Maylin and the children must have been asleep. Not wanting to disturb, he turned and nodded his head, without a word, to the den that was his. Once inside, he settled down. The moss was dry; someone had to have switched it out. Thank the heavens. Verdammt waited until she had settled down to speak. "Not much, but it's our home right now. Be honest with your thoughts?" He asked.[/ul][/blockquote]

Saveve
Saveve laughed again at his own sly smile and wink, "You're quite welcome, Verdammt." His name rolled off her tongue playfully. When he continued speaking of his understanding, she nodded her head in response, but didn't have much to say as she kept an eye on their surroundings. She followed at his side calmly for the most part, but when they reached camp, a slight panic set in.
She had little to fear in her life time so far, but she had never dealt with a pride, with a group more than a few others. While she wasn't a cocky type, she was confident in the way she held herself, and prided on being able to adapt to situations. So why was this different? Why was this making her nervous in the slightest? It was only a moments hesitation when they'd reached camp that she paused, her eyes scanning the camp, the scent of pure pride overwhelming almost.
She swallowed and then followed him more so, taking it all into account. As they reached one of the dens, she could scent that it was his, and pick up the distinct scent of another having been there recently. Before she followed him in, she shook her pelt head to toe, she didn't want to trail a lot of water in, and then she could guess why as to the second scent. "Fresh bedding? She asked, managing to keep her voice light, and when he settled down she took the indication to do so herself, and tucked her paws under her as she laid down, barely resisting to snuggle into the warmth provided in the small area.
When he spoke again, it surprised her a bit, and she hmm'd in response, her gaze drifting out of the den to look at the camp once more. "Well. It is honestly an amazing place, the overgrowth provides much protection," She paused to turn her violet gaze back on him, and they were serious this time, "But it also provides danger. I noted some of those animals out there, the ones high above, and I'm sure with this kind of overgrowth there are bound to be snakes as well.." She paused again, pink tongue flicking out to press the fur back on her maw as she shifted.
"If I were to think about the safety of a pride, I would worry constantly about cubs. They're adventurous little things, and their the future and life of generations to come. They could easily be harmed in a place like this with all the unknowns out there. But this is also your home and I'm sure you have already noted that. However I'd also assume the constant rain, while I adore it, definitely becomes a problem." She tilted her head to look at him once more, huffing her wet locks of mane out of her face as she waited for his response to her assessment. For some reason it made her worry what he thought of it, and she hoped she didn't offend. [/font]

[/i] He said. The fresh bedding couldn't have come at a better time. "Yes.. this land has its troubles and those troubles are ours to share, but we do well with what we have. Our eyes are always open for a new suitable home here though.. an empty, well elevated den or cave we could turn into a camp. Have you seen any?" Verdammt asked, hopeful that she had.[/ul][/blockquote]

Saveve
She smiled a chuckled a bit at his response. From when they had been outside to coming in here things had changed between the two. She couldn't place her paw on it, but yes something in the air had definitely shifted. "Quite the timing indeed." She smiled at him, and then nodded at his statement of keeping their eyes open for things before he asked her another question. At this she shook her head. "I have not, unfortunately. I kind of walked a straight line on my way in here." She paused, hesitating for a split moment, "but I wouldn't mind helping to look for good dens and caves. After all, so far I'm enjoying being here." Her smile broadened a bit more, violet eyes looking up at his own blue ones. He had really already given his approval to her by inviting her, but her offering her help was another story really. And for some reason it made her feel slightly embarrassed. "Of course, that doesn't mean you have to allow me to do so, and its probably something I-" She abruptly stopped, eyes widened. Did she just start rambling? She had never rambled. It must have been the setting. She never really stayed within such a small area with another. Not even the few she'd traveled with. The air felt stuffy. So she settled for a sheepish grin and shrugged. "Its up to you, is what I mean." And gave a small laugh at the end, somehow regaining her composure.
