Orpheus of Meurtrier. There was that feeling of familiarity again, flashbacks to her time as a cub growing up with her mother and siblings...Where had she heard that name before...? But, nevertheless it didn't do much to help her mood, eyes narrowed. But before she could get a word in edgewise, Ani had put the pieces together much faster than she had. Wait, Orpheus. Of course. And Daemon. Now that was a name she wouldn't soon forget. More like couldn't. He was always an ambitious cub, whenever their mothers, that Oaish-whatsit female would bring them to play and the older females would speak of glory days, he would boast about how great of a King his father was. Some King if he didn't have a throne to show for it.
But, it looked like their old childhood friends had really done it. They'd made something of themselves. Like she had. That was impressive in it's own right, and her walls near came tumbling down, though she wouldn't visibly show just how awash she was with relief. Not with strangers about. "...Yes, of course. My apologies. I wouldn't have been so hostile if I had remebered you at first, of course." She cleared her throat, shaking her head, letting the two of them chat for a quick moment, just as amused as her sister by the clear reaction she was getting from the King. It was no secret that something could have happened back in the day, had things gone differently, but fate had a funny way of playing out, but obviously they'd all placed their marks on eachother anyways. Perhaps she should schedule a meeting between them again once she got to the bottom of this.
And so they did, once they were finished flirting it up. She nodded, inviting him to continue, and as he spoke -- Her heart sunk with realization as all the pieces fit together. Oh. Oh gods no. "Kimiko." She nearly choked, this time, she and her sister now knowing full well what was going on. They had the full story. And they were almost played like a damn fiddle, they had no idea. "I --" Swallowing thickly, she shook her head. "This is not good news. If what you're saying is true, then the mystery of the Mok male that was courting one of my ladies is true. And we've finally solved his murder. I thank you for that. His female will be relieved, but I'm afraid it may only send her spiraling again as well..."
Sickle trailed off. She'd have to be the one to tell her. Tomorrow, perhaps. But not now. With her being pregnant, she needed all the rest she could get, and no more added stress than already put on her, even if it would also give her a sense of peace and closure.
'Sister' caught her attention, expectant, and she turned to Anemia, that tired sort of glint back in her gold orbs, and she nodded, then turned back to the other group. "Here is not the place to finish this talk. Please, come back to camp with us. Rest your feet and fill your bellies, and we will meet behind my den to discuss what's happened here in the forest." She requested, giving a nod, already tapping and nudging at her cubs, urging them to go on ahead, get back home where it was safe. They didn't need to be here anyways, whether the Meurtrians decided to come with them or not. It was late, they needed to be in bed.
"We only came across her and her small group once or twice, she had no more than a pawful of members. A few of them looked like my cubs; Nothing but teenagers, that is." She explained. "I'm afraid I don't have much to tell you, though. She moved on quickly, probably to find somewhere to make camp her, but she didn't let us know, so we didn't seek her out. And then. Well, clearly you know what happened next with your Mok." The female sighed heavily, disappointed, frustrated, feeling at her absolute lowest that she was so foolish as to let someone, something so dangerous in her forest. "I knew something was off about her, though. I could feel it in my fur." She growled.
And she couldn't hear or smell Ni on her way towards them, but no doubt the second Sickle found out she followed her, she was out of the safety of the camp, she'd get an earful.
